My husband and I stayed here and we cherished every second. The hotel is beautiful and the location perfect. The service is wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. Plus, we borrowed two bikes for free. We love Ascona!

The Tamaro is a lovely family-run hotel located right on Lago Maggiore in the center of Ascona. It has tons of personality; the rooms vary in size and style, the dining area and terrace are lovely and breakfast is very good. Half-pension that includes dinner is a great option too.

A quaint, good old-fashioned European hotel located in front of the Lake Maggiore, hotel Tamaro is one of the less busy hotels along the promenade. Rooms could have been recently upgraded as it had air-conditioning which was great in the 35deg heat and a clean, bright bathroom. On the contrary, the reception needs some major upgrading as it's old and... More

Very friendly check-in and reception. Helpful and professional staff. Ascona is a very nice place to stay and it’s a nice stroll to Locarno. The hotel is located on the car-free ‘boulevard’ on the lake. Breakfast was served until 11am, which is very reasonable! The buffet breakfast was good but on both occasions there were no eggs nor meat. Shame... More

My wife and young daughter were booked at Hotel Au Lac, but after a long hot train ride from Montreux we were told they were full when we arrived. It was so hot, over 90F and I asked if we could get a room next door at Hotel Tamaro at the same price. We ended up with a gorgeous 3-bed... More

Nice house in the old part of Ascona just at the lake. Pittoresque restaurant at the covered courtyeart, street café with great icecream. Comfortable rooms partly with spectacular view over the lake towards Italy.

We booked three nights at the Hotel Tamaro as we were photographing a wedding in Ascona. It is located on the main waterfront street among a number of other hotels and plenty of bars and restaurants. I was concerned it would be noisy but it wasn't during our stay. It has a friendly independent feel and the staff are very... More

We were given two nights at the little "Hotel Tamaro" in Ascona. This Hotel is situated just at the fantastic lake called "Lago Maggiore". Our Friends booked room No. 66 in the quite backyard of the Hotel. Funny enough that the owner of the said hotel had built a roof on top of Room 66 and its Bathroom. So we... More
