The hotel is located in the top of a hill so to visit the downtown you need to do it by car, however, the advantage is the view is the mountains and part of the lake. room (no 110) was spacy and clean. nice view from the balcony. pool is ok (although a bit small). silent surrounding. 15 min walk to the lake (around 250 stairs). breakfast was standard for 4 stars. they offer wifi, however its not for free - but there are 2 public computers free of charge. take care when booking via hrs.de.... Very nice view, service excellent, but rooms a little too basic (old tv, simple matress) and above all noisy early morning.

The view and location are very nice, but room is not worth the price (cheap mattress, no body soap, noisy from early morning, bad amenities in general) and the service was bad ( it took 45min to get a hair dryer, check-out time is too early:10am, they charged for minibar that we didn't even use). We stayed there mid-August. The hotel location (on top of Ascona) comes with a beautiful view over the city, the lake and the mountains.
