If you want to stay at a hotel where you feel welcomed and the staff are professional then this place is for you. It is in the heart of Kandersteg with good facilities of it's own (pool, tennis..) and plenty to do nearby. The reception staff have lots of leaflets and ideas for trips and walks. more

Stayed 2 nights in hotel's family room--2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a very large vestibule area with lots of closets, and a long balcony facing East and South. We have nothing but praise for this fantastic hotel. We had driven from Italy and came off the motor rail and it is a 1 minute drive from the station. The hotel is centrally located, close to railway station, bus stops, shops and restaurants. The room and bathroom were large, well-appointed and clean. The proprietors and staff were friendly and efficient with fluent English. Nothing was too much trouble. I was surprised that this hotel has only three stars when it seems like a four-star. We stayed for one night only for a hiking weekend in Kandersteg. We strolled in to enquire about a room. The receptionist was very friendly, and gave us the keys to a couple of different rooms to see for ourselves before booking. We stayed 3 nights and were immensely impressed with all aspects of the hotel. Best of all was the welcome afforded by Mimi and Casi Platzer and their staff. The food and accommodation was first class and the hotel is well situated in the centre of Kandersteg with easy access to a number of walks. more
