This was the third year in a row I've taken my children to stay in Kandersteg for half term week (skiing). I was seduced by the attractive photos on the website, and although the price was more expensive than for privately owned apartments in the village, somehow I thought that the quality of the hotel apartment would be a cut... Thank you very much for your feedback. Although some points of your argumentation are incorrect: Our aparments are not more expensive than privately owned apartments, we are in the middle (You can check that!). You said:"it lacked an oven in the kitchen and a lot of other stuff", but this was never mentioned (A tipp, before you book an apartment... More

Very nice concept of rolling/moving jacuzzi. Push a button and you find yourself enjoying a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains from your hot tub in the cold and snowy winter ! We have been there twice and had the same room, therefore I cannot say if the others are as nice. We had room 34. Unfortunately, the restaurant is... More

It's not often in the modern age that expectations are exceeded. I visited this hotel, just for a cup of coffee on a snowy day last winter, it's rustic charm was instant then and for the last year I have been counting the days to return to stay. I was'nt disappointed. Kandersteg lies at the southern most and highest point... More

Despite the quite bad reviews here on tripadvisor we decided to spend the weekend at Chalet Adler. All in all, you have to remember that this is a 3-Star Hotel in Switzerland, so why on earth are people expecting the world?! At first glance it appears clean, with rustic alpine decoration and loads of tacky decoration which appears to be... More

The hotel itself is very charming and nice for a couple travelling. It was not at all appropriate for young children. The location is fabulous, but the hotel is quite dated. The pool is also dated and the tiles were slippery, very dangerous for the children. The staff was not very accomodating to our small ones, especially at dinner time.... More

We stayed at the Hotel Chalet Adler from Christmas to the New Year. We opted for the rolling whirlpool room based on the photos on line and we were not dissapointed. We were in room 11 facing the front street on the first floor and had our own balcony. The rooms were clean and very tidy. Beds were comfortable and... More

We chose the Hotel Adler partly because they promised full time internet access. When we made the reservation we explained that we needed internet access for our business. While on vacation, we still need to contact our business back home. We were assured it was no problem. When we arrived we found that the access was intermittent. We asked the... More

In an effort to keep costs down, my spouse and I booked an apartment at the Chalet Hotel Adler for three nights in April. For 306.50 CHF (70 CHF per night x 3, 80 CHF cleaning fee, 16.50 CHF visitor’s tax), we had ourselves a nice little flat with a balcony overlooking the River Kander. Our apartment (#279) was located... More

My partner and I also stayed at Chalet-Hotel Adler over Christmas 2008 and we found the hotel to be excellent. The room was warm and spacious and the bathroom had a sunken bath in which you could sit and watch the stars. The staff were very helpful, especially the owner who made a point of visiting every table at dinner... More
