I first went to Cabane Mont Fort 3 years ago and have been back a handful of times since. I love to sit outside if it's sunny, but it is equally lovely to sit inside and get warm after a hard ski over the mountain. My latest visit was as good as all of the times before. Our group (four... More

This is not always the best of mountain restaurants if you're just stopping by from the piste. If you're touring, though, it's a different story. Great showers, great food, great wine; we had a fantastic night in Mont Fort before heading onward.

Cabane du Mont-Font is a wonderful refuge among the clouds. I stayed one night during my trek along the Walker's Haute Route. The original stone cabin houses the restaurant and bar, and a modern structure provides the lodging. I booked a standard bunk with half pension (dinner and breakfast). Since the cabane was not fully booked, I had a 2... More

A wonderful refuge high above Verbier. We opted for a private room. Delightfully quiet. The aroma of cooking was welcoming. Food was plentiful, the guardian quite knowledgeable. Amazing sunset from the deck. The cabane is a great spot for lunch, a rest, or overnight. We ordered lunch the next day for our hike. One of the best lunches we had.....lots... More

This place is great. The most tasty and authentic mountain food, served in a lovely old stone mountain hut. When it's warm enough (or even when it's not, you can sit on the benches outside and get service from the little window. A real winner You can stay overnight too; I've yet to manage that but look forward to doing... More

What a lovely location and fun hiking to get to this hut. They have many rooms with just two beds, so it is nice not to have to share with a bunch of strangers. The 2 man rooms were quite tiny and a little stuffy. Bathrooms and other common areas seemed clean and well kept. Go for the half-board and... More

Excellent hut. Fantastic view (best hut view we saw on the trip). Good atmosphere. Clean and tidy. Good food and plenty of it. Friendly and accommodating staff with good advice on the route. Pricey (at 70SF something for half pension), but all accommodation is on the route. Would definitely come back!

No place equals La Cabane for lunches or a quick coffee on the slopes of Verbier. Great view, friendly hardworking team, great stuff they have on their menu, cosy when whether is tough and sunny when its for the vain among us ;)

You have to ski to this gem, and it is not that difficult, but it is so worth it. The Cabane is situated high on a mountain top, overlooking the valleys below. When the weather is sunny and nice, there is no better place to be than at this restaurant for lunch, out on the deck, taking in the view,... More

We stayed here on our hike of the Walker's Haute Route. Unfortunately it was densely foggy this day, so we took the gondola from Le Chable to Les Ruinettes, then hiked the last 90 minutes or so in the rain. The few glimpses we got of the mountains before us were spectacular. We packed our own food so we didn't... More
