Hotel is clean and rooms are nice. There is no bath, and no closet with shelves, but there's a place for the suitcase and to hang some clothes. There is also not much view from the rooms. Breakfast was good. Service at reception was just great!!! Metro: Line 1 to center of Lausanne (Flon Station) is really a few minutes... More

I stayed for five nights. I really enjoyed my stay. This hotel has the best staff Ive ever come across at any hotel. Very friendly, helpful and always smiling. The location is perfect for anyone doing business at EPFL. The price is high but you're really paying for the location in my opinion. The view from the restaurant is world... More

This probably is the best option for work at EPFL, just walk across the street. Rolex Learning Center is < 5 min walk. Metro station is about 10 min walk. Overall very convenient, nice, clean and modern hotel. Rooms design is good, comfortable beds, bathroom style is also nice if you are travelling alone or with a partner but not... More

Very nice hotel, with design rooms and a good restaurant. Quite expensive, but very useful if you're going to EPFL for a business trip. Probably it has also a view on the lake, but I can't tell it because at the time I was there, outside was foggy.

The Starling is super-convenient to get to the EPFL campus - just walk across the road and you're at the Rolex building (the v impressive looking Swiss cheese shaped building). A taxi from Lausanne train station is about 25 CHF (approx 25 euros). Staff are nice, ready to help. Breakfast is OK, the mini pain au chocolats are nice -... More

New and clean for sure. Price of the room is extremely high! Price of the breakfast is extremely high as well while the choice is very limited. Worst was not having a table and a seat as too much guest on the same time! Personal is not friendly and quite arrogant. Avoid if possible!

I enjoyed the hotel's aesthetical interior and found the bed very comfortable. My room had a beautiful view over the Lake which was amazing to wake up to. Internet is included in the price. You receive a nice welcome package of shampoo & lotion samples. Breakfast and dinner were very delightful. The staff was ok.

This hotel is inviting, very clean, efficiently decorated to the degree of being somewhat minimalistic. You find almost all what you need, and all of that in good order. Internet (WiFi) is privided free of charge (I received 2 access codes). There is a coffee/tea making facilities. The open bathroom concept is fine if you are alone or is traveling... More

I stayed in this hotel for two nights for a congress taking place in the Beaulieu (city centre). During this time, it was very hard to get a room at all in Lausanne, and unless you were willing to pay very high prices you had to do with a room on the outskirts of Lausanne. So the Starling it was!... More

As most people commented the hotel is a business hotel near the EPFL campus. Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Clean medium-size rooms, average breakfast. No drinks after 11 PM (?!). Five minutes walk to the lake. Excellent jogging (and walking) path at the lake. Commuting to downtown (actually up the hill) is easy from EPFL station, the hotel... More
