Hotel Steinbock has the flair and atmosphere of a family hotel with the luxury of its 4 star neighbouring Hotel Walther. We had a half board arrangement and the food was extremely good. We were there with our 2 kids and they felt really at home with personnel which played along with the kids. The celebration of my wife's birthday... More

One night stay on winter walking tour. Our room, #1, was reasonable size, clean and comfortable. Bathroom a bit small, but with tub. Best cable TV selection in a week in Switzerland. Wifi robust. Hotel has authentic feel to it, inviting study on first floor to read and have a drink. Decent restaurant; we ate a la carte; half board... More

We just enjoyed our third stay at this hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the cuisine is excellent, and the wellness facilities are superb. Since our stay was over the Xmas period, we were rewarded with a candle-lit trip to the forest with Father Christmas in order to enjoy gluhwein and Christmas carols, as well as with delicious meals on Christmas... Accompanied by a friend, we had a very enjoyable seven nights stay at the Steinbock over the Christmas period. Accommodation was very comfortable (if a little bit pricey in the peak season), and the rooms were smartly furnished and well equipped. We found the reception and other staff friendly and highly professional. The hotel offers complimentary access to a swimming... More

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on our European motorcycle trip - more as a cheap and cheerful stopover between Basel in Switzerland and Lake Garda in Italy but it turned out to a be a wonderful treat in itself! We only booked a modest twin room and very unusually for us, without en-suite facilities. The room... More

Our recent week-long hiking visit to southeastern Switzerland was especially rewarding because of the absolutely outstanding experience we had at Hotel Steinbock: one of the best places we have stayed in more than three decades of travel. The hotel, next to the Hotel Walther, a Relais & Chateau property owned and operated by the same family of that name, is... More

We arrived at 17.00 on Christmas Eve, and were immediately enticed into the woods by Father Christmas (aka Mr Walther, the hotel owner) for a session of carols and gluhwein. That was followed by a delicious festive dinner and several more delicious dinners culminating in the Gala on Silvester. We had a beautiful, newly refurbished room, and our arduous days... More

The room was small but adequate. The location was great, though, with the bus stop a minute away. Breakfast was excellent. We had free use of the pool/spa adjacent, which we really enjoyed. Nice fluffy bathrobes to wear while walking over to and back from it. Nice pool with separate Jacuzzi, saunas, etc. Wonderful towels at the pool. Classy and... More

I had a nice stay in this Hotel part of the Walther Hotel chaine, the only complain is that according to our habits the half board dinner was not so good, only one menu! The other nights we when to the Gondoleza restaurant that is still part of the Hotel chaine just in front of the Hotel Steinbock and it... More

Took the Bernina Express both ways, so wanted to place to stay for the night at the end of this great trip. Hotel nice, but just for a one night stop too expensive. If you call ahead or upon arrival, they will send a car to pick you up at the train station. If you like boutique hotel this is... More
