My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on our European motorcycle trip - more as a cheap and cheerful stopover between Basel in Switzerland and Lake Garda in Italy but it turned out to a be a wonderful treat in itself! We only booked a modest twin room and very unusually for us, without en-suite facilities. The room... More

Our recent week-long hiking visit to southeastern Switzerland was especially rewarding because of the absolutely outstanding experience we had at Hotel Steinbock: one of the best places we have stayed in more than three decades of travel. The hotel, next to the Hotel Walther, a Relais & Chateau property owned and operated by the same family of that name, is... More

We arrived at 17.00 on Christmas Eve, and were immediately enticed into the woods by Father Christmas (aka Mr Walther, the hotel owner) for a session of carols and gluhwein. That was followed by a delicious festive dinner and several more delicious dinners culminating in the Gala on Silvester. We had a beautiful, newly refurbished room, and our arduous days... More

The room was small but adequate. The location was great, though, with the bus stop a minute away. Breakfast was excellent. We had free use of the pool/spa adjacent, which we really enjoyed. Nice fluffy bathrobes to wear while walking over to and back from it. Nice pool with separate Jacuzzi, saunas, etc. Wonderful towels at the pool. Classy and... More

I had a nice stay in this Hotel part of the Walther Hotel chaine, the only complain is that according to our habits the half board dinner was not so good, only one menu! The other nights we when to the Gondoleza restaurant that is still part of the Hotel chaine just in front of the Hotel Steinbock and it... More

Took the Bernina Express both ways, so wanted to place to stay for the night at the end of this great trip. Hotel nice, but just for a one night stop too expensive. If you call ahead or upon arrival, they will send a car to pick you up at the train station. If you like boutique hotel this is... More

We loved our visit to Pontresina and Hotel Steinbock was an excellent choice for accomodations. Guests are offered use of the Spa/pool of the adjacent property which we did partake in. The restaurant and food offered were exceptional. The room was clean, roomy and provided comfortable bedding. We had a lovely view of Pontresina and were close to cross country... More

We chose this Hotel's Restaurant while looking for true Engadine specialities during our stay in Engadine. Dishes are excellent, great local ingredients wonderfully served: a true tipical Swiss restaurant (and hotel) Although a certain elegance Steinbock Restaurant keeps its Alpine informal atmosphere, with smiling weitress in traditional dress, best wines and beers, quick and dedicated service. Prices absolutely affordable (compared... More

Hotel Steinbock is a cute little hotel near the edge of Pontresina. Overall it's not a bad place to stay. The rooms are on the small side, the beds were very average, and there is no elevator, but the hotel is clean and well-kept and the staff, many of whom wore traditional Swiss dress, were generally friendly and helpful. Wow!!! Walked from the train station. We only had a back pack, but 10 minute walk. Would recommend eating there in the hotel. We were offer dinner at the hotel, it was late, and had been traveling all day. The five course dinner was awesome!!! Anti-pasta plate, soup, salad bar, main dish, (which was trout, but staff let us change... More
