We didn't stay at the hotel, we only ate at their restaurant. And we would definitely recommend it! The fondue was really good - as a fondue-loving Swiss I already had a lot of different fondues and this one was for sure top league! The raclette was tasty as well, but has a rather unique, distinctive taste; so if it's... More

Brought some visitors to visit the Greyure region. Stop at the hotel restaurant for coffee around 5pm. Waited 20mins to be served. Cappuccino came cold and without any milk. Lucky no Italians around. Eventually we had our hybrid Cap changed to normal coffee. Waited another 10 mins. Coffee was normal, the only positive point. I must say the waitress did... More

We stopped there for lunch on our Chocolate train tour. The lunch is not included in the Chocolate train package. There are many restaurants to choose from in the short walk to the Gruyere castle. We chose the Hotel de Ville and it was a good choice. Service was good and the food was awesome We had the local recommended... More

Very comfortable hotel, delicious breakfast, lovely views, right in the centre of village. Very friendly and helpful staff. Coffee and tea are available all day. Very comfortable beds and excellent shower.

Gruyeres is a bit of an exotic destination. One needs to get there to appreciate its secluded beauty. Yes, it's mostly for tourists, but it is definitely worth a visit. Medieval castle, where you are left to wonder and explore on your own, a few small rustic restaurants, small shops along the cobblestone streets. Mountain views over alpine meadows are... More

We had a very nice stay at the hotel. The room was very clean and cosy with view on the village. Both the owner and staff were very helpful and friendly. We had dinner which was well cooked. Also the breakfast was very tasty and big.

I loved the hotel and the view from the window. It was a romantic place and suddenly you were plunked down in another time. Rolling hills, cows, farms, fresh air--so much green for October! The room was large, the bed comfy, the breakfast substantial.

We didn't stay there but we had lunch at the restaurant. Of course we had the fondue, which came with bread. We ordered boiled potatoes and dry cured beef, as well. We could have as much fondue as we like. The fondue is what is known as moitié & moitié - half cheese and half white wine. It was very... More

Basic clean hotel in the historical city, really felt in the old Europran town. Room space jsut enough, though I may prefer a small writing desk. Services weere prompt. The restaurant foods were authetic, enjoyed the fodue. Not a place for shopping, you can only find the shop selling cheese and chocolate. Walking around the area was a great enjoyment.... More

Our good friends in Switzerland hooked us up with the wonderful Edelweiss room, four poster bed, and fantastic panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. Magic. We were on a whirlwind tour of Switzerland, and coming from Zurich, where everything runs like clockwork, it could be a bit disconcerting to run into this country approach to hotels. But it's the country.... More
