We booked a room in this hotel one week before our holiday in Switzerland and the man at reception (Mr. Zimmerman) told us on arrival he had given our room to other family. He sent us to another hotel but we got the wrong type of room because he didn't specify... Really bad service.

This modern establishment has well-furnished spacious rooms with balconies, overlooking the town and the castle. Not especially near the station, it is nonetheless close to the town centre and restaurants, of which we can recommend the Schlosskeller. Energetic and organised host who will escort (if not collect) from the station.

We stayed only one night, but found the hotel very easy with a short 12 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is also within very close walking distance to restaurants, cafes, churches, parks etc. It is also easily accessible to the ski slopes in neighboring towns via the private Matterhorn train. The room we stayed in faced over... More

I was traveling with a cousin and we shared a room--found the hotel very clean, excellent amenities and a small balcony included. Lovely place to stay! We stayed one night as we were on our way to another destination in Switzerland. The buffet breakfast was excellent. A small hotel, easy walking distance to the train station, and had everything we... More

This hotel is very clean and comfortable and is only a 10 to 15 min. walk to Brig railway station for Matterhorn/Zermatt trains or further afield. The hotel was fully booked while we were there and there was a particularly loud group of Americans called 'Road Scholars' staying for first 2 nights of our 3 night stay-apart from speaking very... The main picture is deceiving, the hotel is not as good as it looks , its just a building in the city, scroll to see, the shower is in the bedroom and the toilet has no door. What can i say more, the price was tempting plus the review, but we just got a room in a building, with no... More

I very much enjoyed staying at this hotel. I felt it had real character; a kind of castle wing in the middle of a small town in Switzerland. Although the outside looked nothing special, once inside you can really start to appreciate what it has to offer and how it looks. We arrived late and there was no one on... More

As a gateway to the Simplon Pass into Italy or a stop on the Glacier Express this is a comfortable hotel with nice views of the park and the Schloss (castle). It is however a typical box shaped hotel on a busy traffic artery. Its website photos leave the impression the hotel is in the Schloss but it's not. Breakfast... More

We got married in Brig 10 years ago and stayed at this hotel located right by the beautiful castle park of the imposing Stockalper Palace. We have kept coming back to this beautiful place every year for our wedding anniversary, staying in a spacious (and clean) double room with view of the castle. It's a simple hotel but well-maintained with... More

We just had one night here but if we ever return to Brig we would stay again. Two twin rooms as they did not do family rooms. There was a lovely self swrvice bar based on an honesty policy with fantastic views of the town and mountains. The Stockalper palace gardens were right outside the front door so the kids... More
