This is a basic Alps hotel. It is located near the train station, across from an Andermatt shuttle bus stop, and walking distance to both ski lifts. Walls are a bit thin so the hotel is a little noisy. Restaurant is very good. Breakfast is basic but good. Staff was very friendly and helpful about showering and changing after skiing... More

Assuming you are a mountain fetishist, assuming you love the Swiss Alps, assuming you love being surrounded by massive, powerful granit mountains and assuming you are on a tight budget, Metropole Hotel may be for you. Don’t expect too much, not too less and you will be all right. Staff at the reception desk and restaurant are friendly. The rooms... More

We have passed our skiing holiday week at the Monopol Hotel in Andermatt for five years now. Our duplex, aparthotel-style room in the Bel Etage was perfect for our family; it also has a small kitchen to make a cup of tea after skiing. A cosy apartment we have grown attached to! Staff are very friendly and competent. Worth noting,... More

We stayed here for three nights thinking it can not be that bad! Ok so the bad bits, the stairs are very creaky, the rooms are very dated (1960) the windows do not block out any sound, the beds are not very comfortable and our bed side lights flashed all night. Now the good bits, The rooms are clean and... More

This hotel really does need some TLC, it is dated and sad looking. The stairs and floor boards are the noisiest I have ever heard in a hotel. The bathroom was dreadful with old shower curtains, grey tiles and a hand held shower hooked onto the wall that moved if the water was turned on too high. We ate in... More

As the hotel selection in Andermatt is not as large as Zermatt or St. Anton, this 3 star hotel does not in any way measure up to a 3 star in any other Alp ski resorts. Beware the pictures on the website of the "wellness area" are in reality a dark, 70's era basement with a cold 73F degree pool... More

Was tough going from a five star in Zurs to this place but in all honesty this place was just a dump. Really had little options in town since I was traveling with the family and needed a larger room. The whole hotel needs a serious make over and a good cleaning from top to bottom. As much as I... More

Spacious room (one of the largest we've been to in Switzerland for ski hotels) as we were given a triple for just the two of us. Breakfast buffet is nice - continental with boiled eggs. Dinner was tasty. The service of the hotel is very good and staff was all friendly and willing to speak English (even though we spoke... More
