I stayed at this hotel mainly because i was arriving late and it was the only place in the area where I could check in after midnight. I paid 65 euros for a single room which was very basic and dull. The location was great during the day but I did not get a wink of sleep all night for... more

Usually I look carefully at all Trip Advisor reviews and if there is a glaring negative, I will not book that hotel. I should have listened to "Travelling Rover - May 2008" and some of the other "smaller" comments made by TA reviewers. But I didn't and it was the worst hotel experience of my life. I was having 2nd... more

I stayed here with my father in law, the night before we drove the Mosel-wine-route and visited some vineyards. Cochem is a little tourist town and this hotel is right in the middle, dating back many centuries. We paid only 75 euros per room incl breakfast and I found it good value for money. Friendly and helpful service, large rooms.... more

We arrived with no reservation and were able to get a room at this hotel. The only rooms left were the "antique" furnished rooms, which were toward the back of the building and slightly higher prices. Clean rooms, private bathroom, very beautiful furnishings, somewhat of an impractical (noisy) bed for sleeping. This hotel is right in the center of things... more

This was a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of Cochem along the Mosel Weinstrasse. Parts of the hotel actually date back to the 1300's. It had a lot of character and a cozy ambience. There was a gorgeous wood spiral staircase and a lot of marble detailing. The dining room and common areas were beautiful with a lot of... more

I chose this hotel based on all the positive trip advisor recommendations and was so amazed at how different my experience was from everyone else. The hotel is old, of course - but no one mentioned anything about the cobwebs and the dustmites and the peeling wallpaper (circa 1969). The buffet breakfast was very limited with no hot dishes -... more

We recently stayed with our two children in a two bedroom apartment in this historic hotel with section dating from the 14th Century. The rooms were fantastic and the breakfast in the morning was generous and delicious. The hotel is located adjacent to the historic district and was an easy 10 minute walk from the station. Great place. Great staff! more

Delightful historic hotel with many antiques scattered throughout. Very good location. Buffet breakfast is a true highlight. Late night noise can be a problem if you have a street side room. more

My finance and I stayed here for two nights (late June 2007). The location was excellent and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was quaint, comfortable, and had a nice bathroom. As another reviewer noted, the schoolchildren made quite a racket in the morning while walking to school. The parking was quite tight but tightly controlled by... more

Very unique and extremely quaint. Think of the most authentic country inn you can imagine. (Over the door it says something like "Est. 1332; renovated 1960"). We reserved rooms with "ancient furniture"--this was not an understatement. Our room was themed around Goethe; our fellow couple's room featured empress Maria Theresia--all with period touches, prints and trivia. Floors in the bedrooms... more
