We love it! My husband and I arrived for one night only the weekend before Christmas. We are leading busy lives in Australia and being able to drop the little one of at the grand parents in germany was a treat in itself. Arriving at the hotel you immediately feel relaxed. We had the most amazing room ( Schmetterling) with... More

We wanted to visit a typical German Christmas market, and Bernkastel-Kues was our choice for this year. Märchenhotel is in the center of this little town, three minutes walk from the Christmas market. The rooms are very romantic, each of it in the theme of a fairy tail. Our room was Cinderella, spacious, romantic, typical German and very comfortable. The... More

sorry for the tardy review but wanted to comment on this hotel. This was our 3rd stay at this property over the last 4 years. My wife and I stayed this time in the Snow White room. The room did not have A/C so had to open the windows to survive the hot nights and was a little noisy because... More

We had a quick lunch at Märchenhotel before going to a wine tasting at Markus Molitor. Had flamkuchen, which was good and the pancakes. The wine we ordered was sold out, but had another good White wine. The restaurant has a relatively small wine Card. We were serviced by Patrizio who did his very best.

We stayed for two nights in the Snow-Queen Room which was roomy and comfortable. The decor is distinctive but not extreme. The family has been in the restaurant/Hotel business at this site for around 10 generations and it shows. Very attentive. We had a package with an evening meal, very well done with a waiter who spoke perfect English, good... More

A great little hotel, which delivers a rare homely charm. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and it was a joy to be in a hotel where so many people cared. First class. We stayed in the 'snow queen' room, which had very comfortable beds a nice bathroom and a comfortable seating area. I wasn't quite convinced... More

We arrived at Märchenhotel on May 19, for a 3-day stay. This is a historical house in the center of Bernkastel city, on the Mosel river borders. At first, you have to remember that you may not drive through the city with your car, but Märchenhotel can supply you with a designated park space quite near, for a few Euros... More

First the positives, great position in the pretty but touristy Bernkastel. Lovely old building and pretty but small restaurant. Parking was available around the corner and both rooms booked were large. The rooms were well furnished, but the whole frog fairy tale thing is a bit odd. Our friends rooms had a large sitting room and bathroom with a bedroom... More

My wife and I stayed here twice, first on a last minute mini-honeymoon, and again on our one year anniversary. We ate at the hotel restaurant (Anno 1640) both times, see my review on that for more. We booked the 2 night package both times. Each room is unique so we picked a different one each time. The rooms are... More

Small family owned hotel (for the past 10th generation according to the hotel pamphlet) in a real timbered house right in the middle of the old town centre. Our room was quite small but clean.
