We were there for a birthday party of a friend of us and didn't want to sleep in a bed & breakfast after we saw it, so we decided to check in into Hotel Stadt Hameln. The staff was friendly, the room had enough space for two, but there are some negatives: there were no darkening curtain or shutter, so... More

We had to take this hotel as kind of a last minute solution and it was okay. Everything is a bit old and has the classic last 80ies/early 90ies look. What I liked the most was the space of the room because we had a room at the and of the hall, so two windows and a lot of space.... More

I visited this hotel because of my interest in German history. Some atrocities had happened here, such as after WW2, when it was a British military HQ and prison. Unfortunately, the place is still as uninviting. Cold, empty, old deco, no friendly reception at all, Not even worth having a coffee. Sadly.

Situated close to the town center, this hotel is a useful base from which to explore the old town of Hameln. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms can be a little chilly in winter - this mostly seems to be because a lot of windows are left open. The heating does work...but slowly. There is no parking... More

Having just spent 3 nights I was mostly impressed with the hotel, it's location and the staff. The restaurant was very good and everything was in a neat and clean condition. The staff was excellent but in a reserved European kind of way. Proffessional and helpful, but never pushy or in your face. Located just outside the Old City but... More

On arrival I was pleased. The hotel very nice, the rooms were very good indeed. The location was lovely. However, we tried to eat an evening meal. That should not be a problem at a large hotel at about 19.10. We were told they were not serving food!!!! How odd that was as the tables near us had food arrive... More

Having read some of these reviews, I was rather worried about staying at this hotel. However, I need not have worried. The staff were helpful and polite, the room was clean, well furnished and had a lovely view of the River Weser. It was probably the largest room I have ever stayed in. It did have a minibar (not that... More

The staff is friendly. The restaurant is good and the food is excellent. The down turn was the breakfast. The buffet was outstanding, but the bread rolls were not baked properly. Not crispy and still white. The outside seating is nice, next to the river. But in summer this hotel is bad because no aircon. Also no mini bar. The... More

During my recent stay in Stadt Hameln Hotel, I was emotionally torn between good-natured personnel and, not too impressive hotel furniture and fittings. The receptionist I was “greeted” by was not unfriendly but, showed no great interest in me either being in this hotel or, what I wish to mention about my trip to Hameln. Yes! Disinterest would be my... More

Stay away from this hotel; I am not sure where they have found the four stars. Rooms are not big for a four star hotel and have been furnished cheap and without personality a long time ago. Remodeling is required badly; the rooms are dirty, mold, rust and acetate at the shower door. Lot’s of dust and an empty bag... More
