I had a very well appointed single room, of good size with an utterly delightful duvet (which I would like have taken home with me!). I had partly chosen the hotel for its restaurant but arrived on a Monday. They immediately booked me into a lovely alternative Weinstube which was really good. I will certainly be going back (not on... More

We stayed here for one night in September. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast delicious! It was walking distance from the train station and to all the sights in town. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here one night en-route from Netherlands to Munich. Very beautiful town set on the river with large castle and excellent beer. The hotel is well located near the park, castle, river and old town centre. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom seemed newly renovated. Service and welcome good - not much English among staff but... More

While nice enough for a small town hotel, this one has a few quirks. Because it's not air-conditioned, you'll want the windows open for fresh air. However, open windows can admit a lot of noise; our ground-floor room opened on the car park, where smokers from the restaurant gather to drink and smoke. After closing time, the restaurant staff and... More

This hotel is in the ideal location, easy to walk into town and near the main railway station which has fast trains to numerous destinations in Germany. On the fast ICE train, Frankfurt is just 25 mins away. The staff are excellent -really friendly and multi lingual. The food is excellent too. We really recommend the restaurant. Its has a... More

I travelled to Aschaffenburg for a concert at the Colos Saal venue and had a very short stay in the town, barely a few hours. I needed to be close to the centre (where the venue was located) and the station, mainly because I had a very early train. This hotel was handy for both things and especially for my... More

This hotel is one of those solid, well run traditional places you will only find in southern Germany. We were a group of bicycle tourists on a stop-over in Aschaffenburg and really appreciated our overnight stay. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable, quiet and very well maintained. When on the road, we always try to reserve hotels with their own... More

The hotel Zum Goldenen Ochsen in Aschaffenburg, Germany, was the venue for a high-school class reunion in October 2012. I have stayed there before and remember many dinners and "beer evenings" in the last century. The hotel consists of a comfortable-looking, half-timbered old part with geranium boxes from spring to fall and a newer part, housing the hotel rooms. The... More

We stayed here for one night on our way to Austria for a skiing holiday. We arrived later than we'd planned as it had been snowing most of the day and there was a thick layer of snow on the ground when we arrived. We parked in front of the hotel and I went in first to check in and... More
