The location is amazing, unparalleled view of the valley and snow covered mountains. If desired the hotel can be visited without staying for 4 euros parking, and enjoy a meal with unobstructed views. We stayed in the smaller rooms and still had an incredible view! Access is by a one way private road controlled by a light. The light never... More

Its a great place, the road to get there is unforgettable, I was nervous the whole way. It was worth it the cutest place, great food and service. We had a great room with big windows, it was like sleeping in a treehouse.

I have been to Burghotel Falkenstein several times, and I must say, it is quite the lovely Hotel. With beautiful rooms, a great view, it definitely makes my list of being the most homey. The owners are really nice People, always ready for a conversation. The staff is also very friendly, nice, and professional. There is an air of something... More

It's an amazing drive up to the hotel. I've spent 2 nights here. The service was exceptional, the room was special... there's a spa room where you can spend time relaxing after a tiring day of sightseeing at Neuschwanstein, which is only 30mins drive away. The folks running the place were always friendly and helpful, even though I don't speak... More

You know you are in for a great experience when you are driving up the road to this place. The 'Falcons nest' lives up to its name. We spent two memorable nights here. The rooms are 'whimsical' but very clean, large and comfortable. The views are unbelievable. We had a deck overlooking Neuschwanstein castle and the valley below. There in... More

A colleague who travels a lot in Bavaria turned us on to the local hotel. Your hosts, Toni and Herta will make you feel welcome as you experience breathtaking views of the countryside. There is a 1-lane road leading to the summit that is open to go up 45 minutes of every hour. You can only depart the summit from... More

This is a stunning hotel once you do the steep climb to the hotel up a very narrow road but the hotel is stunning and beautifully presented. We arrived and they have made a reservation for dinner for us in their restaurant whihc if the mist had cleared would have have fantastic views and thankfully it did on the morning... More

High in the mountains was our hotel for 3 nights in May. You start ascending a narrow road which halfway up becomes a one lane twisty curvy experience. This was the summit where King Ludwig planned to build another castle and the ruins are only a few feet away. The view from our room was amazing. The owners were very... More

We stayed 2 nights in July as a base to visit the castles and Fussen - a great choice. The location is unique in its own right being at the very top of its own mini mountain so even when we weren't touring we felt we were somewhere special. I think the rooms take their inspiration from King Ludwig though!... More
