When we signed up for a group tour of Normandy, France, we decided right away that we would spend 4 nights at Gasthaus Stahl before the start of the tour. For 8 years it has been our favorite place to relax, to recover from jet lag, and to enjoy great food in pleasant surroundings, even when our primary destination is... More

While on a three week driving vacation with my brother and our wives we spent three wonderful nights at this beautiful little hotel. Upon check-in we experienced the non-English speaking Aunt of the owner who was able to get us to our rooms and also let us know about the wine festival in town. We had a wonderful time at... More

Any time we are in the neighborhood we are sure to spend at least a couple nights in this lovely hotel. They are the consummate hosts with a welcome like we are old friends. Not on the Rhine but close enough to easily drive down, yet away from from the busyness of the tourism. When we are there we never... More

We did not stay in the hotel but purposely made it all the way here because of the wine cellar. Wine taste in the wine cellar is allowed without any charges. we reached there in the afternoon, had problem communicated with the old woman which we think might be the owner of the place. She did not speak English at... More

Stayed for two nights. Large rooms,Very comfortable, clean, with balcony. Beautiful accomodation. Excellent breakfast, with lots of variety, omelette with bacon, fruits, wonderful pastries. We ate both nights at the restaurant. Excellent food, service is not that great. They will bring you your main meal, but very hard to get service afterwards. We waited one hour and left and went... The building is old, but in fact quite beautiful and functional. At least part of the fascination is in deed the establishment being "old" - in other having been run by the same family for a very long time now - even now several generations were around. We had dinner outside on their terrace: again the atmosphere was cosy with... More

We stayed here for five nights and were genuinely sorry to leave. We stayed on the half board package and were impressed by the quality and quantity of the food: especially breakfast. This is a family run business and everyone was friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and welcoming. Without doubt the best value for money hotel that I... More

Gasthaus Stahl. Stayed for 5 nights in June 2014. Lovely comfortable spacious room with a balcony (not all rooms have one so remember to ask when booking). First class food, I have not had as good in some starred restaurants. Great wine. Friendly helpful staff who really do know what excellent service is and how to deliver it in a... More

Just spent a very nice week at this hotel with some fellow Mazda MX5 owners using this hotel as our base. Rooms were of an excellent standard and spotless. Food at this hotel is nothing short of fabulous with the most mind boggeling choice for breakfast I think I have ever encountered! Nothing is too much trouble the evening meals... More

This was my second time and it did not disappoint. The hotel rooms are very nice with plenty of room. The tv has a good selection of channels. There is free wifi. The restaurant has excellent food. The dinners and wine are excellent. Included breakfasts had a large selection including freshly baked sweets. The wine cellar is a highlight. After... More
