Wonderful castle overlooking the Rhine. Our room was fabulous and had a private deck. The service was wonderful and so was the food. Fun to explore all the rooms and the extensive grounds! The downside is geting there. You definitely want a taxi since it is on a steep slope and walking with luggage is insane!

This is a magical castle hotel north of Wiesbaden on the Rhine. The location is spectacular and the hotel does not ever disappoint. This is a half-board hotel with breakfast and dinner included and that is usually not a plus if you want to try other dining options in the area. The dining here was so good and varied, however,... This was our favorite part of the trip! We stayed in a castle! The grounds were perfect for the kids to roam around and feel safe. There were fruit trees to discover, tiny brooks, a life size chess board, incredible breakfast and dinner were included. We opened the windows and were comfortable for sleeping even in July. Mid afternoon go... More

My husband and I stayed only one night in room 22, which is in the tower. I believe it mentions this on the website, but to access the room, you take an elevator to the third floor and then walk up a curved staircase to the room. There is a porter who can bring bags to the rooms, in addition... More

This is my second stay at Schoenburg and they continue to improve on an already great hotel. The rooms have been updated and the food continues to be fabulous. The gardens are a highlight and it's pretty tough to find a better view to enjoy with your pilsner!

Staying here was the best part of my trip! The views from the castle are outstanding, my room was very comfortable with a antique furniture but modern touches like a Flat Screen TV, minibar, etc Both breakfast and dinner were included and excellent!!

The castle sits high over Rhein with a spectacular view. The hotel has been run by the same family for three generations and is first class. The rooms are charming and authentic furnited and very comfortable. It is surrounded by levels of gardens and aeras to sit and meditate or just enjoying the views. It is surrounded by vineyards of... You should know half of this Castle is not the Hotel, but there are bunk rooms which are used by large groups of young teenagers who stay for periods of time at an English language school facility. The shared courtyard is their playground as well as part of the Hotel's facility. This is the first place I have ever stayed... More

The castle is astonishingly beautiful - absolutely like going back in town. We had a fab suite on two levels - incredibly romantic, totally within our honeymoon spirit! The restaurant is good and they make a real effort to serve you food the way you like it (we wanted some variations). The entire staff is delightful. Only minor negative is... More

My husband and I spent two nights at Schoenburg. From the complimentary sherry and apples in the guest rooms to the breathtaking views of the Rhine and the beautiful gardens, every detail was impressive. Every interaction with staff was pleasant; we were especially impressed with Katarina, who waited our table in the evenings. The food was delicious and the wine... More
