Oberwessel and our stay at the Hotel Roemerkrug was the highlight of our 5 week Europe holiday. The building was so homely and welcome, wonderful staff. Beakfast was perfect with everything from eggs, pastries and smoked salmon with capers. Oberwessel is a quite little gem of a village that we could stayed much longer in. Take the time to walk... A small German fairytale - a nice bedroom with magic red apple on the pillow daily, the medival cosy room but the bathroom was absolutely modern. . A nice host, an exellent breakfast, the view on the town-hall from the window. Great memories, wanna come back one day.

Just returned from our stay. We were two groups traveling together. We have one child and the other couple had none. We were given a choice of any room in the hotel since we were the only ones there that night. We had a spacious room. They actually turned the heat on ahead of our arrival which is appreciated. We... We arrived in a very sad moment for the family which owns the place. Nevertheless the owner managed to make us confortable and gave us very useful suggestions regarding eating (as the hotel restaurant was closed). just one minor problem:in my room the wifi signal was very week. Highly recommended!

This was our second time to stay here. Mark, the owner, was so helpful and friendly. He even arranged for our Rhein In Flames tickets and had them waiting on us. The rooms were fabulously decorated with period piece, right down to the big brass keys!

While the Hotel Romerkrug is an old building, we found the rooms were clean, comfortable and updated. It was also nice to soak in the large bathtub at the end of a day of hiking. The breakfasts were the generous buffet style we had come to expect in Germany and the staff was very helpful with our special requests -... More

Really enjoyed staying at the Romerkrug Hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable and range from single person to full sized family rooms, one even has a four poster bed. The hotel and rooms are decorated with period pieces and does well to make you feel that you are in an historic 500 year old building. Breakfast is a European... More

Came along the Rhine to Oberwesel; not a lot of hotels at optimum prices to choose from. Sadly, Romerkrug is basically ‘worn’ and has an unconvincing charm. Oberwesel gives the impression of half-day closing! So, we go-on with our one-night stay. Very indifferent wi-fi, breakfast was average but amicably served by a pleasant manager.

Oberwesel is a small historic town on the Rhine, close to the Lorelei and having a K-D waterbus stop and ticket office - an ideal stop-over if you want to avoid the worst excesses of tourism. The Romerkrug is ideally located in the small market square, less than a minute's walk from the Rhine. The hotel building and it's furnishings... More

This hotel is full of old world charm. Stayed here on our first night in Germany. Gorgeous little town on the Rhine. This is not the town to come to if you want a party but a nice quiet German experience. The hotel is very old, and the rooms ate decorated to the time period. Bathrooms were new. The included...
