We spent a night here and enjoyed the luxury of a newly refurnbished room with a great view over the "Starnbergersee". The room was very spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. The restaurant is right on the lakeside so you walk 50 meters for breakfast, lunch, or dinner there. But again, you're right on the shore of the... More

-Service: When we got there on a pea-soup-foggy, late November evening we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who told us that they'd given us an upgrade-at no extra cost. The room was as large as an apartment. Fantastic. -Room: Fantastic (I know. I just said that) -Restaurant: There's been a decay in the Restaurant business over the last10-15... More

It might be more helpful to separate the hotel review from its restaurant but since we loved both, a single review should suffice. We stayed in one of the top floor suites in the lakeside building. The suite was nicely furnished, well maintained each day and enjoys lovely views of the lake and shore opposite. A few angled beams were... More

I have ambivalent feelings about this hotel: on one side there are many pluses: great location on the lake side, nice and assorted breakfasts, helpful personnel. So why spoil all that with such a sloppy room maintenance? They did change spoiled sheets, but not the towels; and even worse: they did not even sweep the floor (I found items which... More

Had a great room in the original building directly overlooking the lake. Except for the Head waiter/ restuarant manager ALL the staff lovely . Those in reception can not do enough for you . We ate in the hotel one evening - food good , and the other evening in the nearby Oscar Maria Graf stuberl/restuarant - a must .... More

My first time to Europe and I loved my stay here! Loved the view, the lake, the friendly women at the front desk (Hi guys!!), the ebikes we were able to rent, the food (from breakfast to dinner everything was deliciously fresh!) and the location. My only complaint is if you do not speak German some of the staff (at... More

We chose the hotel based on the recommendations of friends. It is close to Munich and less than an hour drive to the Alps and border with Austria. We arrived after dark, but had no trouble finding the hotel. Our reception was friendly and efficient. Our lakeside room, in the older building was spacious and tastefully decorated. We could not... I visited the hotel restaurant on a beautiful sunny September Sunday afternoon with my daughter and I admit, the view of the lake and the available seating directly at the banks is really very beautiful and rewarding. We ordered two variations of seasonal mushroom plates (Pfifferlinge) and the hotel kitchen deserves compliments for value and quality. But the service -... More

I wish, we could have stayed longer, directly on the lake, very friendly service and excellent food, would like to visit again! Enjoyed the delicious breakfast, just love the croissants and the variety of bread,

Staying at the Hotel Schloss Berg was something of a last minute decision, but it paid off. TripAdvisor had suggested less of a tourist emphasis and more local knowledge so we arrived forearmed. My wife and I prefer independent travel and so the description sounded great. I have to say that Lake Starnberger is, in the right weather, one of... More
