Schloss Berg is convenient to München and several of the lakes south of it. The Alps, in fact, are just an hour away. That is why we return each year. The hotel itself does not draw us, but it is certainly an above average facility. We always book a room in the old, lakeside building. The neighboring modern building is... More

If you pick up a car from Munich airport you can be at this hotel in 45 minutes. A superior room gets you an enormous, modern room with two settees and an large balcony and we were overlooking the lake as a bonus. In the dusk the separate restaurant building looms above the landscape and you can sit on the... More

I stayed for one night in September and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The hotel has free parking for guests right on the shores of Lake Starnberg. The location is beautiful. The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The room, even though a single room, was enormous with a large balcony. In old hotel fashion you receive a proper key... More

An alternative place to stay if visiting Munich. The lakeside views are beautiful and breakfasts are the highlight. A short 5 min drive to the train station and a 35 min train ride to Munich saves the trouble of driving into the city centre and finding parking. The surrounding area is a nature lovers delight. Free on site parking.

Our room was in the old house.Large balcony.Sometimes quite loud because of the kitchen downstairs.Breakfast was really good . The not very well behaved muslim children checked every item by hand.I suppose we have to get used to the Schador in our beautiful Bavaria!!!! The cook was worthy of a silver medal.

Close enough to Munich and not far from good motorways is this quiet village by the side of the lake. The hotel is split into two buildings which I hadn't appreciated when booking. We had a huge room in the newer building set back from the lake and without a lakeside view. But what we lacked by way of a... More

This is the second time of visiting this hotel. The first visit was two years ago and so enjoyable we wanted to stay again. Last year, they were fully booked so we had to stay at another resort, but this year we had to meet family from Munchen and stayed for one night in July and were going to stay... More

Starnberger See is a very beautiful recreation area, closeness to Munich plays big role, that the area is very densely populated, especially in the summertime. So the hotel's location is ideal and they know that :) This means, that prices are quite high and sometimes overrated, especially for ones having family vacation with kids. In this area this usually means,... More

We stayed here last year and will likely do the same next year. That violates our travel vow to always try some place new. The Schloss Berg Hotel is just too convenient to stay elsewhere. Munich, the Alps, Austria and the lake region are all within an hour drive. The hotel is a bit old, but is in good repair... More

We spent a night here and enjoyed the luxury of a newly refurnbished room with a great view over the "Starnbergersee". The room was very spacious and the bed was big and comfortable. The restaurant is right on the lakeside so you walk 50 meters for breakfast, lunch, or dinner there. But again, you're right on the shore of the... More
