We stayed two nights at Zur Goldenen Sonne in October 2013 as part of our three-week tour of Germany. We enjoyed the hotel very much even though construction was going on in the interior courtyard. Our room was large and fortunately was on the first floor, i.e. up one flight of stairs, since there is no elevator. However, this review... More

We stopped in here for lunch. at here were four of us in our party and what we ate-- soup, salad and a sausage-- were all excellent. The dining room was bright and cheerful. And our waitress was friendly and on the ball.

An ideal location set in the cobbled centre of a town full of charm. The hotel has the best of both worlds - a historic building with modern comforts. whilst we didn't eat in the restaurant - purely because we wanted to explore the town, and for no other reason, we did enjoy the inner courtyard well tended "biergarten", with... Having never stayed in the Harz region before we knew no hotels by reputation. This hotel was a real find as it is both beautiful in the old part and very convenient for the town, the buses and the railway station. The restaurant is excellent and decorated to a high standard, the breakfasts are good. The staff were very helpful.... More

This hotel is located in a historic building that has been completely renovated. A charming house with real character. Perfect location in the centre of the town. Easy to park in the hotel parking area. Restaurant and biergarten in house. Very good breakfast. Nice and friendly staff. What more can you ask for? Well our weather could have been better....

I had the opportunity to spend my birthday in Quedlinburg, Germany and since chantarelles (pfifferlinge in German) are my seasonal favorites, we chose this hotel's restaurant. There is inside seating, but we chose to sit in the outiside "biergarten" which is a pleasant inner courtyard of the hotel. It was full of guests and everyone seemed to be enjoying thir... More

Stayed here while walking & exploring the half timbered medieval city of Quedlinburg. Walking distance to all in the city. Nice helpful staff, excellent restaurant with local specialities. Quiet, rather ordinary room, clean and all we needed at a good price.

Fine mid-range hotel, ideally located for exploring this well-preserved town so rich in half-timbered buildings. In fact, hotel is located in such a building, and so some may be disappointed to find that its interior is modern and functional - once inside, only the creaky floors indicate its age. But my room was spacious, clean, quiet, and reasonably priced; and... More

We stayed here one night. Room was spacious and bathroom was spotless. Free parking is available in the back of the hotel. Wireless internet is avalable for a fee. Breakfast (buffet style) was outstanding with many choices. Location was excellent - right on one of the squares. One thing that surprised us was the modernity of the room. We'd anticipated... More

A good value hotel & we probably had the same room overlooking the market. The fountain is now working & the view is great. Two words of warning. Frst, get to breakfast early -it's really good but "re-stocking" can be slow. Secondly, the nearby church clock strikes every quarter of an hour (a hazard unless you are a heavy sleeper!)... More
