First trip to Harzen. We decided to stay in Goslar. Der Achtermann was a fine hotel with comfortable rooms. We stayed in one room, a family of four, it was a bit crowded but the room is large though. Nice wellness area with pool and saunas. Breakfast buffet was not impressive. Staff was friendly.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 432. Very nice and big room. Large and moderniced bathroom. A fantastic view over The City and the surronding mountains. Beds are quite hard - my husband enjoyed that but too hard for mee. Also the pillows are simply too big. Its within walking distance to the very nice city center. Breakfast was... More

we recently stayed two nights in this hotel and had payed extra for a tower room. The room wash´t accessible by lift and very far from the car park. The room was small, horribly furnished and with no internet but with a very old and badly tuned tv. The shower room was small and not very clean by arrival. The... More

My single room was quite small, and at the basic tariff no luxuries (complimentary individual soaps/lotions, Wi-Wi, English TV channels etc) were included. It is walking distance to the train and bus station, as well as the culture-rich part of the town. For a business trip I might go more up-market next time, but for a private trip I'll consider... I stayed at this hotel recently, paying for two rooms between three people. I reserved the rooms on the web and it clearly described the charge quoted as "Bed and Breakfast", as did the confirmation I received. When I came to pay the room bill I was charged €180 more than expected (€15x four nightsxthree people) because we had eaten... More

This hotel combines a local experience (trains nearby), with historical significance, and offers an all around pleasant experience. I found the staff to be helpful and professional, smiling even in the midst of a slight glitch upon registration. (My reservation had not been passed on to them, but they cheerfully solved that problem.) The hotel is located in a lovely... More

Hotel Achtermann is located very close to the rail line, in fact trains pass within meters of the rear of the hotel. Our first room was very noisy due to the trains. We requested a move, the member of staff initially seemed surprised we were bothered by the trains then he stated the web site clearly states the hotel is... More

A delightful hotel in a beautiful town. The room was spotless as was the whole hotel. It is very central so it is easy to explore on foot. The pool was excellent and we found the pool bar was a great find for drinks and snacks. Persevere because it is a little difficult to locate. Booking in was so smooth as... More

The hotel felt a bit dated, as if it could use some serious redecoration. And the thin walls could not stop the noise from the railway and the other guests. But... i really enjoyed the indoor swimming pool, the breakfast was great, staff was helpful and the location, close to the medieval centre of Goslar and not too far from... More

Outside temperatures were up to 39 degrees and this hotel offered no air conditioning, so sleeping was very difficult, especially as we needed open windows and other hotel customers were less than quiet, outside, one evening, made worse by tubular steel chair frames being constantly scraped across stone floors. This was a front facing room, at the back is a... More
