The staff was very friendly and attentive. The location is central to everything. The rooms are basic but have everything you need including coffee machine, free water and soft drinks. If you have a lot of luggage get a lower floor so less steps. Also see if you can face the “Innenhof” rather than the street. Parking is on site which is also super convenient.

We enjoyed our stay. Availability of drinks and snacks made our stay that little bit more comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Although the immediate location did not look promising you are only a 5 minute walk from station , car hire and less than then 10min walk from the lake.

I stayed at hotel central for business purpose. For that it was alright. The cheapest single rooms are quite small with "in-room" showers and narrow single beds (~100cm). Balcony was almost as large as the room. However room was very new and clean. Breakfast is quite good with some decent selection. Location is alright, but there are more central hotels in Friedrichshafen. All in all, ok for business trip.

We spent five nights at this hotel, chosen because it was close to the train station. From there we visited the charming cities around Lake Constance. Our bedroom was on the second floor, with no elevator. Room was comfortable with two beds, a table and two chairs, nice bathroom, two windows with view to the building in the back, but we had daylight and good air circulation. Breakfast was included and it was great! Well supplied, a varied selection of bread, cheese and ham and sausage, egg, yoghurt, cereals, juices and a good espresso every morning. We could pick water and soft drinks from a fridge at the entrance for free! We liked it very much.

I would give it negative points if I could. We checked in. Lady at front desk redefined grumpy. Room was smaller than most closets. No AC. Stuffy and smell of a dead body. Asked if we could just cancel. She said no cancellation. Ran the credit card and said to leave the property immediately. Do not park here and don't come back, she says. You would think this review sounds like either I was argumentative or you want to dismiss. But don't. The hotel is bad. I was very nice through the short engagement.

It could be good for drivers - I picked it for the parking spots out the front and the easy access from main roads. It’s a short walk to the waterfront but then an additional kilometre along the waterfront to the zeppelin museum. The entrance is around the back and has a fixed sign saying that they’re not in and you have to call, but they’re probably in (wave through the window). My room (cheapest category) was sub-Japanese in size with a single bed wedged under the window. The bathroom was small but actually quite functional. Free wifi was excellent. The TV accepted USB drives. Breakfast was a pretty good selection - I'm sure I was told it was was €9 extra but they might have included it in my price. Smoke from the balcony rooms was a problem for me as was noise, with the internal stairs very creaky, guests going up and down the external stairs early in the morning, and the hotel being right under the flight path, with planes starting at 6am. If this were actually a cheap hotel, I might be impressed, but it was one of the more expensive hotels I stayed at in Germany. Maybe there’s something wrong with Friedrichshafen that makes it a very expensive town (I can’t think why, it’s a bit of a hole, but maybe it's a popular tourist trap), so check prices carefully against full-size alternatives before choosing.

We stayed here for one night during a cycling trip. The hotel is clean and close to the main street. The rooms were ok with small bathrooms. Breakfast was good. The service was very good with friendly reception and complimentary water. The reception is not always open.

We stayed in the Central Hotel Friedrichshafen last week for 3 nights. It was very well located close to the town center, and the waterside promenade, maybe a 5 minute walk. The staff was friendly, and it was obvious that the hotel had undergone some recent renovations (there were still some unpainted walls upstairs). While modern and clean, with nice fixtures in the bath and room, my room was very small. Barely room for a chair, there was little place for my luggage, and no closet for hanging riding gear. The shower was so small, the shower curtain stuck to your back, which was very annoying. I did look at some of the other rooms when they were emptied of previous guests, and some were bigger with a balcony, but several were as small as mine. WiFi was free, but very inconsistent. The cost for a single room for 1 night was 85 Euros, which did not include breakfast (another 9 Euros). The price for 1 night might have been fine with the inclusion of breakfast, due to the location and still being during holiday season, but I think I would stay elsewhere knowing what I know now. A nice hotel, but look at your room first before agreeing to stay.

I was a little apprehensive when I booked this hotel, as there were few rooms left in the town and not all the reviews were good. However, I was very pleased with my room which was obviously a new room, in a new or recently refurbished extension. The bathroom was very modern, immaculately clean with lots of towels. The room itself was functional, very clean with two single beds. The bed was very comfortable. The large television received lots of channels, including BBC World, and other English language channels. The view from my room was of a typical German street, and a back lane. The room had three windows (with shutters) so was well lit. The room lacked a wardrobe, with hooks on the wall behind the bed, which were difficult to get to. There was also lack of a flat surface to put down a laptop and work at it. The staff were particularly attentive and helpful and spoke English. Breakfast was a generous spread with lots of cold meats, cheeses, breads, fruits, juices, cereals, etc. I did not eat in the restaurant. The entrance to the hotel is round the back, but that's OK; just not immediately obvious. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and bus station and ferry terminal. The cost of this hotel was very reasonable, given that demand seems to be at a premium in the summer or when there is an exhibition at the Messe. Work seemed to have only recently finished around the area where my room was, with some odd items of furniture in the passageway, but I can cope with that! Would recommend and would stay again.
