Dined here as a walk up no reservation, most of the restaurants in Bamberg in summer seem to have shared tables where you join whoever is at the table and this place is no different. We had the salad plate shared as its huge, followed by the pork knuckle and pork shoulder both served with a traditional dumpling and sauerkraut,... More

This is a wonderful little hotel right in the middle of Bamberg - with quaint, clean rooms and a wonderful restaurant/biergarten downstairs. It can be a little loud (and in May, you must open the windows - no A/C), but this was hardly a detraction after having such a great experience walking the hills of the town and eating such... More

This hotel is ideally situated in the old part of Bamberg, tucked away in the narrow streets - too narrow for traffic which is great for getting a good night's sleep. When you leave the hotel to go into the city proper you realise that the city is wealthy and thus a bit expensive. This is reflected in hotel rates,... More

Stayed here 16 – 18 JAN 15. Very nice hotel in the heart of Bamberg. Comfortable spacious rooms, fast Wifi, a large sumptuous breakfast, underground parking, very friendly staff, excellent priced and you can walk anywhere from here.

Superb location opposite Schenkerla brewery - a must visit in Bamberg. Friendly staff and reasonable price for rooms at the hotel. I would definitely stay again. The pricing is good value. Well worth a visit. And good breakfast too.

This is an ideally located hotel with tons of charm smack in the center of old Bamberg. It's a lively area, full of students chatting and drinking and flirting, but the Alt-Ringlein's double-glazed windows kept the noise out of the room, and the fan kept me cool all night. We had a good meal at the restaurant with its well-priced,... More

We stayed for three nights. Location is perfect, being in the center of town, close to all the important sights, i.e Cathedral, River & Shopping. You need to have a GPS, city map or take a taxi, if visiting Bamberg for the first time, because it is very difficult to find if you are going by car. Park at the... More

I thought this hotel was lovely, the room was spotlessly clean and I loved looking out into the little street bustling with people and activity. As we were right in the centre of town, we could wander around without having to worry about the car. The only negative really is they charged 10 Euros for us to park overnight... a... More

A half-timbered former brewery right across from Schlenkerla, where there is something of a nightly party in the street, with a mix of tourists and locals drinking the famous smoked beer. We stayed there with two small children, all of us perhaps more tolerant to the noise than other families might be. Full days of walking the town and trying... More

I stayed for two nights in this hotel in November 2012, it is run by a family and there is no night receptionist. The breakfast was really good, but the wi-fi did not work and the cleaning women were really loud in the morning (both mornings I woke up there, so it's probably a habit). The hotel looks pretty traditional... More
