This is definitely a comfortable hotel with a unique style. The building is decorated with stuffed animals and a diverse collection of objet d'art. My room was comfortably furnished with nice touches that make a difference - like the plate of fresh fruit and the comfortable sofa. The owners have made maximum use of the garden. There is an outside... More

Although a hotel not a B&B or a guesthouse, they've managed to make you feel like you're staying in a home rather than a hotel, whilst avoiding that feeling you get in B&Bs that you're in someone's house. Turning up out of season meant we were offered a change of rooms on the ground floor with doors leading to a... More

If you are lucky enough to get a room here, u will have a gem in the pocket. Outstanding location, only a few rooms and not the average hotel. It is a small paradise in walking distance to the casino and the heart of the city.. It is right at the beautiful promenade. Food is awesome and the garden is... More

We stayed here during my Birthday, as it was a gift from my girlfriend. We got here after a 85 km bike ride from Zurich and felt for a second out of place. The room was small and cosy, with a nice minibar and clean room. We had dinner here and which was amazing. The sellection of wines was really... More

This is a cozy family hotel at the end of Seestrasse, that is more like a boarding house with a private bathroom than a "Hotel". Ringing the doorbell at the locked entrance in the back, brings Max and Penny who greeted us warmly, looked up our name on a sheet of paper then picked our key out of a bowl... More

Fabulous location, terrific service, family atmosphere - although the beautifully set sit-down breakfast is a bit thin behind the war, personal service. 15 Euros for a couple of slices of cold cut, cheese and an egg seem a bit steep, if low compared to a larger, more commercial hotel. And yet, the collection of hand-killed animals in the hallways, a... More

We arrived a little late (7pm) and was shown to our room which had a lovely room overlooking the lake. Since we were hungry we asked for recommendations for dinner and was told to walk 5 minutes to the left or 10 minutes to the right. Neither seem appropriate for what we were looking for so we continued further into... More

Made a reservation as we were on an interrailtrip in southern Germany/ Switzerland. Konstanz is always nice and the city is beautifully located and this hotel located on the northern shore of lake Constance seemed just right . To make it short : Location is great , but thehouse is crying for some maintenance ranging from new paint outside ,... More

Yes, Konstanz is a most beautiful city which combines stunning setting in between the lake and the mountains with a charming, completely undestroyed medieval architecture. Most houses in the city have been built in between the 14th and 16th century and are in perfect shape. And, no, Konstanz is not cheap. Nor is Villa Barleben. However, in the grand scheme... More

The historic home is absolutely beautiful and decorated well. The large private lot right on the lake is the perfect location because it is relaxing while still being less than a ten minute walk from the center of town for all of your shopping and historic tourism desires. The rooms were very large with a nice view of the lake... More
