I loved this hotel! This is what I look for when I stay in Europe. I'm hoping not to stay in a Hampton Inn. All 3 of our rooms were good but some were better than others. Some rooms had views and some looked out over roofs. The hotel was quiet. The lift is small but we only used it... More

I stayed at the front end and back end at this hotel during my self guided bike tour. The staff was great here, very helpful. The hotel itself is centrally located, one can get to most parts of the city easily. It is, very outdated and in need of a facelift.

We stayed one night here as part of a Radweg & Reisen cycle tour. The hotel has a great location (though you can be disturbed at night with street noise) but our room on the top floor was definitely inferior to others we'd enjoyed in other towns and cities on the cycle tour. It was also the only hotel of... More

This is a hotel right in the middle of Konstanz Old Town that has been extended into an adjacent building and then to a new block at the rear. This does create some twisty corridors and level changes, but our room was more than acceptable for a 3 star hotel. Our package from Inghams included breakfast (very good) and evening... More

We took the train to Konstanz from Zürich to make use of the currently strong franc against euro, and spent the night at Hotel Barbarossa. The location in the Old Town is excellent, not far from the train station but far enough that you don't hear the noise of the trains, and as it is in the pedestrian zone there... More

This is an old hotel that we thought was pretty classy. We enjoyed staying there during the Christmas Markets and found it to be very convenient. The breakfast was very good and the day we left, they prepared us a to go meal because we had to leave so early. We definitely would go back. The staff treated us very... More

We arrived from Stockholm (Sweden) by a Lufthansa flight to München, and then by a rented car via Lindau and Bregenz driving at the south (!) side of the Bodensee to Konstanz (260 kilometres/161 miles drive). It would have been a bit shorter to drive at the northern side...which we did on the return some days later (we wanted to... More

The Barbarossa is well situated in the pedestrianized Altstadt of Konstanz, surrounded by shops, cafes, and historic buildings. It is an easy 5 minute walk to the railway station, the boat landing stage and the lake, making it a good base for exploring the area by public transport. Over the years, the hotel appears to have been extended into neighbouring... More

I couldn't believe my eyes I'd just asked the waitress the German for different greetings when back she came to the table with a list of 6 German greetings ... and the entree hadn't arrived! The food was part of our bike ride package amours Lake Konstanz, so it was never going to be 5 star Michellin quality but ........ More

We stayed here for a week on a half board basis. We took the lift to the top floor and then had a higgledy piggledy walk to reach our room. All rooms are decorated differently and ours was in a Roman/Greek style, with sandy coloured walls, 'distressed' furniture and a chandelier above the comfortable bed. We loved it. Breakfast was...
