Perhaps this hotel is four stars by European standards, but not by American. Rooms are good size, but sparse in furnishings and amenities. This is the nicest hotel in the area. Beautiful pool & gardens. Breakfast was passable, but not great, even by European standards. Be ready for loud shows outside til near 12 at nite in summer. Very clean.... More

Dear guest, many thanks for your feedback regarding your stay. Thank you also for your nice comments on our Hotel being the nicest in the area, with beautiful pool and gardens and being very clean with very accommodating staff. With regard to not living up to American standards we are sorry that we did not entirely meet your expectations but... More

The staff in this attractive and comfortable hotel went out of their way to welcome us and be of assistance in any way needed. Views from the rooms with balconies were great!. . . . a lovely property with palms, shrubs, flowers, etc. or the Ionian Sea. We were with a group of 34 on a Seniors Tour vacation with... More

This is a nice hotel well situated on the main coastal road between Taranto and Villa San Giovanni. Staff were friendly and supportive, the hotel room was a reasonable but not overly large, bed was comfortable, wifi worked well, bathroom OK. It was a little more expensive than what we would normally have paid but, in late winter, not too... More

This hotel has passed its use-by date. It is shabby and tired, and seems like they haven't upgraded anything since 1975. The pool was dirty, and the grounds were generally overgrown. In the room, the control panel on the bedhead that was probably high-tech thirty years ago didn't work properly, so we couldn't control the air conditioning or use any... More

My wife and I traveled to Southern Italy in a group of 35 in search of our ancestors (and to visit a few select sights). This hotel was our third on the 2-week tour. The location was fine; the food was sub-par; the pool was above average and the walk to the beach was fine. However, THE ELEVATORS could only... More

I am from Montreal Canada and had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel President for 2 weeks in August 2013. We have been to this region many times before, as my family is from the area, and I can say that the hotel and services offered exceeded any expectations we had before arriving. We had a very positive... More

More like 2 stars, at best. The rooms were outdated and damp/musty, with a lingering smell we could not figure out. The beach is nice enough but nothing to write home about. On our last day, my daughter bit into a prepackaged breakfast snack cake and almost threw up - it was moldy. When I brought it to one of... More

We recently traveled to southern Italy with a friend who grew up in Siderno. We stayed about a week at this hotel. Everything was wonderful. The hotel arranged for our pick up at the airport and we were greeted with smiles upon arrival at the hotel. While the front desk personnel spoke Italian they could communicate some in English. Twenty seven members of Senior Tours Canada stayed at the Grand Hotel President the last two weeks of October. Our rooms were pleasantly appointed and each had a balcony with either an ocean or garden view. The staff was very welcoming and catered to our sometimes whacky schedule. The beach and gardens provided a great place to sun ourselves and/or... More
