I have to say this has been one of the most overpriced ski holidays I've ever been on. First of all there was no rep on the bus between Moutiers and Val Thorens therefore we received zero information. Then the Chalet was absolutely filthy with clearly no effort to clean it before our arrival. Although this improved slightly during the... More

We regret to learn of the issues you experienced during your stay here. We aim to visit all chalets on the first evening and deliver a welcome briefing so we're sorry this was not the case. We shall be investigating the cleanliness standards you have raised as we can assure you that this is not representative of our chalet service. More

After arriving with a group of 11 there was no rep to meet us. The food at dinner was passable just the wine as we were told they spent 75 cent a bottle was not drinkable so we bought our own. The bread instead of local fresh bread and breakfast croissants they were pre bought and heated up which amazed... More

Chalet is very down market and a real struggle to get into as loads of stairs and corridors. We were told it was ski in, ski out - absolutely not unless you're a very good off piste skier. Therefore skis had to be carried downstairs, along corridors before finally getting to the lift which went down to garage and then... More

We're sorry to learn that Le Sommet did not match your expectations. As it is part of the Chalet des Neiges residence, access is via the reception area and past other accommodation. We do not advertise it as ski in/ski out, but recommend that good skiers join the Plein Sud run only about 500m from the residence, so we regret... More

We spent a week here in March with SkiTotal. The chalet is really good for a large group - there were 10 of us. The rooms aren't huge, with just two small wardrobes and no drawer space - typical ski chalet really. Balconies have amazing views over the village and are good for a natter if you are in rooms... Dear Myrtleturtle1, Thank you for your kind review; we're so pleased that you found Le Sommet to be a lovely chalet for your party and enjoyed Ollie's "yummy" food. We have recently revised our information on ski access from this chalet and agree that it is perfect for intermediate skiers, although beginners are well served by the free resort bus... More

We stayed here in March 2013 as a group of 26 friends. After reading some of the earlier reviews, I was very apprehensive about staying there. However I must stay I was very impressed, the food and choice of wine was excellent. The ski total chief/hosts were very friendly and very helpful. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean and... More

We stayed here in March. The views are amazing but the drawback is trying to ski out and back to the chalet, unless you are really competent skier or mountain goat it is daunting. The food was extremely good and enjoyed the wine. We were very lucky as the rest of the guests were great company and very welcoming. I... More

After reading the OTT and somewhat unfair comments made previously on Trip Advisor, we had our concerns on the hostel before arriving. Fortunately for us, we had a fab time and the negative reviews proved inaccurate. The chalet is positioned in a good location at the top of the resort and within 5/10 min walk from the shops and bars... More

Stayed here early Feb. with 4 friends - all experienced skiers. First thing to remember is this is a '4 diamond' chalet - which I believe is Ski-total's lowest rating (certainly in Val Thorens) - so don't expect luxury accommodation. Beds comfortable, rooms warm (had to open windows to balance as no other controls) - no radiators for drying stuff,... More

We recently stayed at Le Sommet as part of a large group of 22. We received a warm welcome from the chalet staff and they were polite, friendly and helpful all week. The chalet does sit at the top of Val Thorens so is a long walk for beginners down to the main ski area but those who are intermediate... More
