Booked through skibed.com for skiing over Christmas and New Year 2008/9. Really enjoyed our stay and the accommodation was significantly better than some of the more typical 'tired' self-catered apartments. Very efficient arrival procedure but don't know if we were lucky with the timing as most places had queues! The apartment did cost more than others, however the slight increase in price was worth it as you are afforded a nice size room, with kitchenette, separate toilet and bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. It's not the Ritz but the appt was clean, functional and basic with a standard sofa-bed. Ski storage room downstairs and the appt building is pretty much ski-in ski-out. Great resort too, however don't believe Val Thorens 'car-free' claim as it's not really true! Would go back although probably catered chalet next-time. If it's self-catering you want then Le Valset is fine! more
