Let's start with the good points. The service good and friendly and the food was generally pretty decent. The bar area is comfortable. The problem is with the rooms. Each of us in the chalet had different problems. Some had no shower or a shower that you had to hold over your head. Ours was broken with mould growing in... More

Just stayed at hotel, booked via Ski Val. The Ski Val staff were great and very friendly. The food especially, was of a excellent standard with a hearty breakfast to start your Skiing day. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The bar is perfect for relaxing in, with a lovely log fire and good beer. My only gripe would be poor... More

Just returned from a great week skiing in Tignes and having visited the Alpaka 12 years ago was very disappointed to find it hadn't changed at all! The bar and restaurant were still very good however, rooms were very basic and worn out, no doors on cupboards, no shower curtains on baths, threadbare carpets, lights and boot warmers that didn't... Myself, she who must be obeyed and our 11 year old stayed here the week before Christmas,i suppose you could call us "guinea pigs" as we stayed the first week Skival had taken over from the previous owners, who now just run the bar. I have to say I do agree with some of the previous reviewers comments. Firstly the goods things,the... More

We stayed here having viewed the previous reviews. I was quite disappointed and did not think the chalet was good as it could have been. It's run down and needs renovating. The room itself size wise was okay and typical for a ski chalet, but the shower was tiny and If you moved too much you ended up having the... More

We stayed first week of January, had a great trip, staff are really friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic, but all you need as you'll be hitting the slopes or in the bar must of the time!! The food was amazing, we had a great variety and it was all delicious! So much so we are looking to go... More

We popped in here during out stay to see my step-sister sing. It's such a lovely, cosy little place with a great atmosphere. We didn't stay here but if you are eating or drinking then it's a lovely little place to visit.

Stayed at the Alpaka for the first time in a long time. Winter months are now controlled by Skival from the UK but they have retained the high quality of service, friendliness that were always a feature of our stay. The Owners still run the bar and and the whole place was just the same as ever. Its cosy centrally... More

This place is quite small so not right for a long dining experience but it's focus isn't on food anyway but I have to say that the Thursday deal for curry and a drink especially in Tignes is fantastic! It was delicious and you there are some sofas you can sit on afterwards. Lovely little place.

Our group had two set meals here. The food was very tasty and portion sizes were good. I particularly enjoyed the soup, the risotto and the lemon tart. The bonus was that the owner is a sommelier and the wines were very good. The bar has a friendly atmosphere and is clearly patronised by locals as well as visitors.
