We did not stay at this hotel, rather we booked to go there for an evening meal. We could see that it was a lovely hotel, clean, warm and creating a great impression. The restaurant was also lovely and everything was set out beautifully at our table. The food when it was served looked great BUT it was tasteless. What... More

Extremely nice, simple, well equipped (Jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna) Savoyard hotel. Traditional design, traditional food, extremely nice staff, very good location - nothing better to enjoy French Alpes. .

I stayed here for five nights with friends for a skiing holiday. It's very much a family-run hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and all the staff were charming. The restaurant evening meal was very good. Overall it was very good value. I would definitely return.

All the rooms are very different in size and facility. We were on the main road opposite the enormous building site. We could have changed to the side of the hotel but the room was much smaller. No incentives to eat at the hotel but the dining room looked nice. Plenty of really good patisseries a few steps away to... More

We have just spent a few days in the hotel. It was excellent. It is family run,and nothing was to much trouble, for the Coffy family. The food was terrific, and it was extremely well run. As it was very hot in Samoens, the pool was a bonus. We hope to return soon and wish the Coffey family and staff... More

My wife and I stayed here for a recent ski break in Feb-14. Nice hotel well located on the main room into Samoens. I struggled to find the place using SatNav but if you’re driving from GVA, it is right on the main road, to your left as you enter the village of Samoens. We had a room on level... More

We came in Feb 2014 for a week's skiing, and had a faultless stay at the Gai Soleil. It's a family-run hotel, and the Coffy family were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. When we left, after six nights, they felt like friends. The hotel is clean and compact, just what you expect for a three-star establishment in the lovely Alpine village... More

Had a very relaxing week here. Room is basic but clean. Lovely breakfast, evening meals in restaurant were excellent. Availed of wellness facilities. Would have been nice to have bathrobe and extra towels provided - considering the cost of the room. I would definitely stay again. Warm, helpful and friendly staff in hotel and relaxed atmosphere in village makes Samoens... More

it all seemed to go so well!! nice triple room but no bargain price! Nice suprise with little cupboard that looked like wardrobe with a kitchenette, used ONCE and for cups of tea in the morning. On checkout 75 euros for use of kitchenette!!! apparently there is a sign (no doubt in French!) to say if use facility a charge!!... More

We were lucky to be able to book in the hotel -in mid August - for just two nights. Our friends recently had acquired a lovely Chalet Apartment on the other side of the village, It was their first summer holiday in the apartment and we wanted to be in the village so as to experience the village and some...
