My friend and I ate here during our week long stay in the small town of Allemond, whilst doing some cycling. Food service seems to start around 7pm in most places in the vicinity and this was no different. Well patronised and full of families and couples by 19.30, the service was efficient and friendly. The food was pretty standard... More

Perfect place to stay for cycling holiday in the Alps. A very friendly hotel with a lot of charm and character. The bedrooms are going through an upgrade and improvement programme and are bright and comfortable with great showers. The management and staff obviously love their work as nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is good and plentiful... More

Spent three nights in this very small but well run hotel. Staff excellent and very helpful. Bedroom recently refurbished so very nice. Food especially dinner was very nice on both evenings. This is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet trip and want to do plenty of skiing. It is a short ten minute drive... More

We stayed at La Douce Montange over Christmas and were delighted with the hospitality and atmosphere. The owners and their team were all lovely. But the very best part was the fantastic cuisine! The Christmas Eve meal was a truly wonderful creation - who would have thought of a cauliflower creme broule as part of the appetiser, or chestnut ice... More

Stayed in the hotel in February for 4 nights. Staff is very friendly, food very good. You can enjoy a drink in the bar or sit next to the large fire place. Some rooms are already renovated others are a bit outdated. (But will be renovated soon as well) We had a room that wasn't renovated yet but it was... More

We have stayed two times in this lovely hotel and the last time we came, we had one of the renovated rooms. We were happy with the old rooms too, but we have to say that the renovated room was really perfect. It was a 4 persons room - we are a family of 4 - and the room was... More

We stayed here for 2 nights recently after booking online through a third party booking engine. We booked a double room. When we arrived I talked in French but the staff member asked if I spoke English and after that all of them spoke English rather than French. On first arrival the room was nice, modern, however it was a... More

We stayed here for the 3rd year in a row. Preparing and participating for the legendary triathlon Alpe d'huez.. La Douce Montagne is the best hotel to stay if you are looking for a place to start from for your bike, run or swim trainings in the French Alpes. Located between the major cols of the French Alpes (Du Glandon,... More

This hotel is located about 10km from the base of Alpe d'Huez but is the perfect base for cyclists wanting that Alpine experience - it is a cycling hotel mainly! The owners are Dutch and cycling mad, the chef at my tiem of staying could ride the Alpe in under 50 mins!! They offer good food and lots of it,... More

If staying up on the mountain is just out of your price range, this place will put a smile on your face. An easy drive to a number of entry points to the Alpe D’Huez ski area. Station de L'Olmet was a 10 minutes drive and Vaujany 15 minutes. Both had free parking; you can ski back to Station de... More
