The room was filthy - carpets, walls, mattress(stained with blood and other things) even the newly refurbished bathroom had black mould round the doors. One wardrobe door was propped up against the wall. On complaining to the Rep, a member of staff came to the room and arranged for a cover to be placed on the mattress, a general clean up,... more

Before you consider booking this Crystal owned hotel, I would strongly advise you to contact the Vallee Blanche (Tel. +33 (0) 476803 351) and speak to the Manager. Unless you wish to be accommodated in shabby, carpet-stained, superficially clean rooms, you need to confirm they have renovated all bedrooms by at least re-decoration and new carpets. Otherwise, be prepared to... more

We stayed here 7-14 Feb. Transfer less than 2 hours from Grenoble. This is a club hotel; the board is chalet board i.e. no lunch but cake in the late afternoon with chef's night off on a Wednesday. The staff are all English (a good point for most people) and went the extra mile to answer queries on the resort... more

On reading the previous reviews...... (which were not good) .....me and my partner were apprehensive about booking and staying at this hotel, but we gave it the benefit of the doubt!! We stayed for one week 21- 28th Feb 2009 and it was our first winter holiday. The week at the hotel was excellent and yes...as mentioned before, it was... more

I stayed at LVB from 21-28 Feb 2009 in a group of 29. I must disagree with many of the recent reviews..........we found the hotel to be fit for purpose. It is a reasonable place - decent bedrooms with new bathrooms; a good variety of food for breakfast and dinner (inc free wine), and only a few minutes walk to... more

I had read all of the reviews on this site before our trip (Feb 21-28 2009) and was worried what we might find. I even got in touch with Crystal beforehand to air my concerns. I needn't have been worried and unless your expectations are very high you will get a reasonable stay for a fair price. It's a skiing... more

Interesting reading reviews from this year. One would have thought that Crystal would do something about the place, bulldoze it being the best solution. Use of young people who are there to ski/board is no way to staff a hotel. The place was not as clean as it should be, but when we arrived they hadn't cleared any snow from... more

My husband read the awful reviews on here a week before we left and wisely chose not to tell me! I am glad he didn't otherwise I would have been worrying for nothing! The staff were all very friendly and the childcare staff deserve a special mention - they were EXCELLENT. Chef must have changed since bad food reviews because... more

We booked a week from the 17th-24th Jan 2009. It was the worst holiday of my life. My girlfriend and I both caught the Gastro -enteritus bug which has plagued the hotel since Dec 08 , our holiday was over by the 19th Jan, we had severe sickness and diohrea. The hotel is filthy , the staff are lazy and... more
