I have stayed in alp d huez many times and I have used this hotel the last few. It's by far and away the best I have used. Bike friendly with great facilities for cyclists. The staff are all polite and can not do enough to help out quests. I have recently raced there in horrendous conditions and the people... More

Hi, nice family run hotel, its clean, staff are friendly, breakfast is good, rather nice view, Conveniently placed in the centre of Alpe d'huez- easy to get to the restaurants and bars. We were there for a cycling event and were given secure access to the garage.

For all the hype of Alpe d'Huez which is a wonderful active location this hotel is a great retreat. From very helpful front desk to bar and wait staff you feel as though you really are a "guest" in the best sense of the word. The rooms though small are clean tidy and have good bathroom facilities. The in house... More

Julian and his family made us feel very welcome and helped us when we had an urgent issue to deal with. The rooms and hotel generally were spotless. The breakfasts at the hotel were good with a wide range of buffet food and the possibility of cooked food to order. The restaurant and bar have superb views across the mountains.... More

Stayed there for a week. Very nice hotel with a great location. Not far from the main street and the swimming pool (<5min of walking). 200m to the 1st station of Telecentre ski lift, which is important because 2nd station is regularly crowded in the morning. To return to the hotel you don't need a lift, just ski all the... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Castillan. It is a family run, friendly well presented hotel in a nice quiet location. The hotel very kindly upgraded us to a south facing room with a balcony which was very kind of them. With a good bathroom and separate loo the room was a good size too and very comfortable. Internet... More

We stayed for 1 night in July. The motel was very quiet as was the whole town. We were a bit disappointed to get a room at the back overlooking the grassy hill, when there were obviously plenty of vacant rooms with nicer, alpine outlooks. Room and decor was basic and clearly aimed for the skiing clientele. Internet was reliable... More

We visited for the TDF's visit to Alpe D'huez. In total we stayed 10nights. We had a fantastic stay and could not recommend more highly. The owners of the hotel and their family run it and you can tell. It is so friendly, personable and comfortable. The rooms are basic but extremely clean. We did not have a mountain view room and... I have stayed on the Alp many times and this is by far the best hotel i have used there. Little touches like bike cleaning with rags and brushes make it a great place to bike from. All the staff were extremely helpfull above and beyond. If you are riding in Alp d' Huez stay here.... simple!

The hotel is very well located , a few paces away from access to the slopes and a short walk to restaurants and bars. My room was spacious and clean with a small balcony for keeping the wine cool. Breakfast was included in the rate and was perfectly acceptable with good coffee, and fresh bakery. Le Castilian was exceptional value... More
