We stayed for one night last week when visiting Alp d'Huez. Hotel was nice, parking opposite, restaurant food was fantastic very suprised at the quality, we expected average cuisine but it was well presented and delicious. Staff lovely and attentive. Room was fairly basic but clean and had everything we needed. Location good, we knew it was south of Alp... More

We stayed here with Tour company GPM10 for La Marmotte 2014. I have only had good experiences of GPM10 before. However we did not like L'Ancolie at all. The food was ok, but definitely not on the healthy side and no vegetables at all. We had to ask for more than a couple of pieces of bread and olive oil/vinegar... More

What a lovely hotel? Clean and tidy rooms, free parking, wifi, closed bike storage room and not only great hosts but a gourmet kitchen that's remarkable! I was doing some serious cycling around Bourg d'Oisans and found this as a great hub. Thanks for a memorable time. I'll be back at L'Ancolie for sure.

A great little 2 star hotel in the village of Huez. Bus service up to the main ski area is regular and the little ski lift 200 meters away connects all the way up to the main DMC lift in Alpe d'Huez. In good snow conditions there is a piste which runs back to the village and very close to... More

Mainly I agree with some earlier reviews. So just a few points. One should be aware that this hotel is in Huez village a fair way lower than the Alpe D'Huez ski station - and that there is nothing in Huez in the evening except the "Maison D'Huez" just up the road which is a small Cafe/Alimentation/Bar...Don't stay in Huez... I must admit I was nervous about this place on the way there. We would be arriving late due to travel schedules (Airplane, TGV, bus) so we were basically supposed to check ourselves into the hotel. As it turns out everything went fine with our late check in. It was the only time during our stay that we ever saw... More

L'Ancolie is cosy and warm - very warm - and its timbered interior makes it snug on a naughty night! As a 6-foot person I had to choreograph my showers very carefully in the compact shower cubicle, and I'm not a fan of beds with footboards, but everything was spotless and welcoming. Other comments about the restaurant taken to heart,... More

Stayed here with by brother as part of a self-guided bike vacation in the French Alps in mid-September. Technically not part of Alp D'Huez but down the mountain only 4km, it is part of the small little town that was basically dead when we arrived. Lucky to have scored any reservations at all in the area as it's shoulder season... More

The room are clean and decorated with taste, and the price is uncommonly for the skistation. The owners are also very kind.

Just returned from a 5 night stay. As mentioned in other reviws the hotel is in the small quaint village of Huez about 5km down the winding hill from Alpe d'Huez.. There is a cable car that runs from 08:45 to 16:45 up to Alpe d'Huez just 300 yds from the hotel so getting to the resort during the day... More
