When reviewing the Belle Aurore, it's only fair to reflect that it's a budget hotel specifically targeting UK schools as its customer base, and to set base expectations on this. Anyone expecting standards in line with contemporary UK budget hotels will be disappointed and perhaps understanding this and appreciating that high Alps budget accommodation will involve some pretty basic standards... Thank you so much for you detailed feedback on our hotel. The staff and hotel management will be delighted to hear some of your positive comments (especially on how hard they work!) but we need to work on some of your disappointments. Like the staff, the hotel is a hard working hotel with lots of groups staying every week. We... More

We stayed here xmas 2014. The resort is brilliant the locals really friendly. The staff of the hotel were accommodating enough but the standard of food served was really poor. I can only put it in a class of 1970s school dinners. I know the chef has a budget he has to set by but when some people asked for... More

Thanks for your feedback. It’s great to have the opportunity to see what our clients think so we can improve our service for the future. I am sorry that you did not enjoy the food in the hotel. As a specialist group tour operator we do have a set menu which we hope caters for a variety of differing tastes... More

First the good points: great location just 100m or so from the basket lift and if there was enough snow, you would be able to ski back to within 30m of entrance. The matreeses wer new and comfortable and the rooms were fine with ext lists on the door reminding you to take a scarf, suntan money etc - perhaps... More

Thanks for taking the time to add a review, its great to get your feedback, good and bad. We are really pleased you liked the location and the rooms. The hotel is in a great location but like you we wish that there had been a little more snow when you were out as you can ski back to within... More

I stayed here at the end of last season. The rooms were plain but adequate - how long do you spend in a room on a ski trip? The,staff were fantastic and were always helpful and polite. The food was great. Hearty portions and with wine included very good value.

As party leader for 42 students and 5 staff staying at the Belle Aurore for a school skiing trip over New Year I would like to thank all the staff for their excellence throughout our stay. Having organised over 20 school skiing trips, this was by far the best organised and friendly hotel and company ( skibound) that I have... More

Four of us stayed with Crystal over the Christmas break. The hotel is run by Skibound and the English staff were all very helpful and attentive. The hotel is geared to accommodate school parties and this is reflected in the somewhat tired appearance. We had a quick look at an exhibition at the sports centre and if the photos of... More

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights leading up to the Alpe d'Huez mountain stage of this years Tour de France. The hotel was "spartan". No tv, no telephone and 2 simple twin mattresses. The view on the other hand was amazing! We had a beautiful view overlooking Alpe d'Huez. The staff were all english speaking (it... More

We stayed at this hotel for a very special cycle event and we were made to feel part of the family from the very start of the trip. We never saw a member of staff without a smile and a warm greeting. The rooms had great views and as an added bonus you could keep your bike on your balcony... More

My bedroom had no heating for two days, and when I informed the Hotel Manager, I was told that the maintenance man had other hotels to look after and that I was not the only person with heating problems. At the dinner table, it was very difficult to catch the attention of the sullen looking waitresses who repeatedly neglected to... More

Well I went with my school on a trip and the rooms were cramped and basic with limited storage for things and uncomfortable beds. the food was worse than school dinners and the vegetarian option was either like it or lump it, overall the food was inedible and the lack of pastries on a morning had mold on the bottom....
