Vaison-la-Romaine was one of our favourite locations in France and a large part of this adoration resulted from the quaint, cute B & B, L'Eveche! Once a bishop's house, this bed and breakfast radiated charm. The location was perfect with plenty to see around the town. The couple that runs L'Eveche is extremely kind and will go out of their... What a wonderful experience it is to stay in this beautiful, quirky B & B that was once a bishop's house. We loved the location in the old medieval city above the river and yet still in walking distance of cafes and restaurants in the lower town. Vaison la Romaine is beautiful with many attractions and L'Eveche is the perfect... More

First visit to Vaison. Super Provençal town with magnificent roman remains which are beautifully preserved, and includes a great museum. Well worth a trip on its own. L'Eveche sits in the medieval part of the town, high on the once fortified hill. Bijou, elegant and reflecting the taste of its stylish owners. It is small, entirely in keeping with its... More

Our stay in this lovely bed and breakfast may be the most memorable of the entire trip. We were not prepared for the narrow streets of the old city and almost backed down. (There was no room to turn around!) Are we glad that we did not! The views from this lovely home were outstanding, and the dinner at nearby... More

Loved the beautiful "Bishops house" at the top to Vaison-la-Romaine. Many types of rooms to chose from so be sure to ask. Some are almost apartments. Lovely decor with library area reserved for guests to enjoy. We were with 10 friends and lots of places to gather. Amazing, delicious breakfast on the outdoor patio. Many good restaurants nearby and also... More

What more can be said to praise this lovely place, the home of cultured, charming people? Jean- Loup and Aude also happen to present a large and delicious breakfast buffet and are happy to assist with restaurant and travel recommendations. No need to mention again that the common rooms are filled with books and art, handsomely arranged. Just go, if... More

Formally the Bishop's residence, this historical landmark now serves as a quaint B&B. The old medieval town is very charming and only a few minutes walk to the more modern part of Vaison-La-Romaine were there are a variety of shops and grocery stores. The old town is built on a hill as are all the medieval villages, which only adds... More

Wow was this a tricky place to find. We arrived on bicycles after a 50 Mile journey from Avignon... Walked right past the entrance. The rooms were charming, watch your self on the steps to your room! Breakfast delicious and our hosts wonderful. Enough electrical outlets to charge all our devices is always a problem but with my new 4... More

We spent two fabulous nights at L'Eveche. This charming B&B is located in the older medieval part of the town, making it quite an uphill walk, but believe me, well worth the effort. Aude and Jean Loup are caring and gracious hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Our suite was wonderful, and like the rest of inn full of... More

If you are spending any time in Vaison, I suggest L'Eveche. The setting is truly Provincial, the views fabulous and the hosts are tremendous. You park a few 100 metres away so this isn't for everyone but if you can walk a bit uphill it is worth it. The hotel is near the base of the old castle in a... More
