I've been coming to this place since the 1970's; it feels like home. Nestled in a corner of the natural park, Cacharel has a long and proud heritage. The owner has kept the hotel's history alive, while improving it at the same time. It's a no frills hotel, but as close to nature as you can get. A perfect place... More

We spend a lovely 2 nights on the farm and just enjoying the stars at night, sounds of the flamingoes, swans and horses. If you are in search of great birdlife and quiet peaceful bliss in the Camargue this is the place to go. We had a lovely room with a safe and it was cool during hottest part of... More

We stayed at the Hotel de Cacharel for five nights and found it to be a magical experience. In the heart of the Camargue, surrounded by pastures and wetland, we felt transported to a different age. Its owner, M. Colomb de Daunant, is deeply committed to preserving the culture of his region and to making a stay at his mas... More

I will repeat what others have written: this is a magical place in the south of France. "Cowboy country," as it were. The hotel is rustic, quaint, a total get-away from big cities. We came through here for one night while biking through Provence with Discovery Bike Tours and it was fun to trade the bike for two hours on... More

Why? Because it took me 15 years to go back and more than three years to write this review. I did not want this exclusive spot to be known The place has not changed and memories are still intact. Just loved it for its simplicity, well-being and absolutely remote location in the middle of nowhere. Notwithstanding a charming host and... More

We are a family of four, including two boys of 11 & 12-year old, and stayed for 3-4 nights at Hotel Cacharel in July. We really had a great time: the hotel is very well situated and run by a very friendly and helpful staff. Don't hesitate to ask for restaurant tips! I do recommend a two-hour horse riding with... Beautiful hotel in the middle of the Camargue nature and close to Saintes Maries de la Mer. The place is reasonably simple but all you need will be available to you including a silence which is difficult to find in most places. The hotel has great horse riding facilities, well trained horses and a great guide and is the closest... More

Great location and the wonderful view from our window of flamingoes. Simple but comfortable room; we didn't need anything else although I can imagine some people would like more up to date bathroom facilities. Very friendly & helpful host, who sensibly advised leaving our baggage at the hotel whilst we visited the nearby Ornithological Park, where obviously many cars had... More

The location is about two miles northeast of Les Saintes Maries de la Mer. It's hard to separate the facilities from the atmosphere but I'm trying. You can drive into town for breakfast, same quality, lower price, but you wouldn't have the atmosphere. My rating would be higher if I accounted for the atmosphere. In early June we needed a... Over the years we have stayed several times at Cacharel and we were never disappointed. It is a magical place far away from everything and still close enough to Saintes Maries de la Mer to find a nice restaurant in the evening. It is a very authentic place that oozes atmosphere. The rooms are simple with comfortable beds and always... More
