We stayed at Les Roches for one week with our family which included small baby. We between us had four beautiful bedrooms with wonderful sea views. I was rather nervous about booking this hotel as it had received bad reviews last year. However we were completely happy with the refurbished rooms. The staff were charming and the atmosphere of the... more

This place survivies on its postion overlooking the ocean but very little else - a great disappointment. We were part of a large wedding party and had organised through the bride way back last March our reservation. We arrived and given room 87 which was at near base level. The corridor near the room ws dirty and dark. The room... more

When we arrived at this very expensive hotel we were shown a small dark room which was wholly unacceptable. So we were placed in a different room, without twin beds as requested. I was given a cheap little camp bed instead. There was a permanent smell of sewage outside our door and after complaining, a chambermaid came and, this is... more

We were travelling in the south of France in August and booked a night 15Aug2008 at Hotel les Roches. The mid afternoon arrival reception was good, room lovely with view from balcony. Pool and service at pool great. From there things fell apart. Upon returning to our room to shower prior to dinner, the first person showering noticed that their... more

We booked ourself for one week in August, after finding the hotel on the small luxury hotels of the world website. On arrival all seemed perfect: beautiful setting, great seaview. As our romm wasn't ready at1pm we went to the beach restaurant. 70mins wait for a plate of pasta and a fish, even thought the restaurant was half empty. Then... more

The stay did not get off to the best of starts. First, my reservation via Small Leading Hotels website was "not on record" despite the confirmation. Fortunately, low season so easily resolved, by putting me in a room darkened by a tree blocking off all light (and view) and next door to hotel renovation works. On complaint, no problem, was... more

The rooms, the location and the views are all excellent. But if you are a vegetarian, prepare to starve. The waiters in the very expensive supposedly first-rate restaurant were incredibly rude when I asked whether there was any vegetarian food available. They eventually suggested that they might manage to provide a plate with some vegetables on it. I said (very... more

We spent 2 nights here for a small family celebration and had a very relaxing time. The hotel is small (only 39 bedrooms) and the staff were discreetly attentive. The layout of the hotel suited us well, but may not suit all visitors. The rooms are arranged groups in separate buildings over the (steep!) hotel grounds connected via pathways, gardens,... more

Rooms vary widely. Some are great, some very small. Amenities are nice, staff helpful. A beautiful view the Med. Two caveats: 1. most bookings include breakfast, but they DO NOT tell you that when you check in. You might be under the assumption that you'll have to fork over $50 or go into town. 2. Be sure that you bring... more
