Looking for a hotel after a long journey delayed by traffic we found this hotel as the owner was about to close. He said he had one family room which suited us but was 140 euros. Expensive and the reception was stained by and reeked of smoke so I asked to see the room. No!! was the response not pleasantly...

is a 2 star hotel so dont expect many services. but rooms are clean, toilets are simple and bright white =). And stuff is very friendly... hotel is walking distance away from restaurants and shop...

We found the Hotel de Provence on the Office de Tourisme cite for Digne les Bains. We wanted a hotel there to stay one night before taking the narrow gauge rail to Nice (actually part bus ride).
The hotel is family run and can be booked by e-mail, though be sure you get an answer saying they got your commitment....
