I stayed here with some colleagues, whose somewhat small rooms all had a great bed, but also a dated bathroom and a faint smell of smoke coming from the AC. Switching on this AC led to a loud buzzing noise so you couldn't sleep. The staff are all very friendly and the breakfast is fine.

Stopped here for two nights and yes it is as described in the other reviews. The reception is extremely friendly and helpful. The prices are good, the rooms are smaller but clean and very comfortable. The location is beside a bridge over the local river but, even though I was in a front room it never provided any interruptions for... More

Niort was simply a place we stayed overnight on our way from the Dordogne to Brittany but the Hotel du Moulin was a pleasant surprise. Very comfortable, though our room was tiny, with helpful staff and a lovely location on the river not far from the central walking streets. Parking was off the street and quite secure.

Stayed two nights in mid June. Chosen for parking as we have a classic softtop. Heart sank when we checked in during the Niort rush hour. The hotel is next to a main roadbridge with traffic lights. However, roadside rooms have good double glazing and efficient air conditioning which eliminate traffic noise. Rooms at the back have small windows overlooking... More

This hotel is very good, ignore the 2 stars in other places it would be at least 3. Well placed, good very clean rooms and pleasant staff. Good restaurants in easy walking distance. The staff will advise where they are. Niort is an interesting town and has an exceptional Don Jon (Keep) which you should allow time to visit, also... More

Dropped in here for a night on our drive south as it's well located - half a day's drive south of Calais and an easy town to get to from the autoroute. Niort turns out to be a charming spot with a nice main square and lots of little restaurants, all within a short walk of the hotel along the... More

Room was average size, bathroom somewhat cramped but clean with a some freebies by the wash basin. Rooms at the back can be hot, while rooms at the front can suffer from traffic noise. There is a lift, and an in-room TV. There is a linking balcony along the back which is accessible by all doors from all the rooms... More

Niort is just a short drive away from busy La Rochelle. After the hustle and bustle of a major tourist resort (well worth a visit), Niort, just next to the Marais Poitevin with its canals and greenery, is quietly refreshing. Citotels are not generally luxury places, but offer good value for money and don't charge you for all kinds of... More
