Stayed for 2 nights in June 2014 and enjoyed the experience. The only down side is that the carpets in the upstairs areas are made from what appears to be coconut matting and are uneven in places and the whole upstairs is a bit gloomy. The room and bathroom were fine, the railway station across the road did not disturb... More

We only stayed one night on our way through France. The guy on reception was fine, just did his job. The room was a bit weird - strange bathroom, but it was large & clean - although the towels need a good bleaching. It's in a good location, right by the station, no parking although we parked right outside the... More

Stayed here on European road trip, ideal position for the quaint town, very close to the beach. Very basic, clean. O.K for an overnight stay. If eating out I recommend to eat at restaurants not on the promenade, they are just as good, if not better, and a lot cheaper

We stayed a complete week 1-7 July 2013. The hotel is very well situated being only 200 metres from the beach and conveniently close to Chatelaillon railway station. Having read some of the negative comments on this site about the Victoria Hotel all I can say is that people have to remember that it only purports to being 2 star... More

This is such a lovely hotel. Don't know why people have complained about Monsieur. He was charm personified! We had a lovely room with 2 beds - 1 double and 1 single. The bath was short but deep so I had a lovely hot bath. We never have breakfast in French Hotels as it is universally overpriced so can't comment... More

A real old fashion french hotel. Clean and an ok breakfast. A place I like to be. Friendly staff (family hotel). Near the beach and not far away from La Rochelle, wich definately is worth a visit. I can propose other who wants to stay calm and quiet to have some nights there.

The room was spacious, but run-down, and the bath far too small even to shower in; lack of shower curtain made the task difficult. The owner is said to have 'character': my problem was that I couldn't find the good side. On the upside, the bed was comfortable.

We booked this hotel for one night The biggest draw back was that we had to stay there. the room we had for 2 adults and 2 children was two rooms bodged together, with two double beds that were hard as bricks. The bahroom was part of one room partitioned off with a sliding door of chipboard, a 3/4 size bath... More

This is a charming family run hotel where you are made to feel like one of the family. The hotel has character, as have the family who run it. The boss, Christain, is a delight and he will help make your stay in this lovely resort rewarding with advice on where to eat and stay etc. He has strong views... More
