Situated just off the A26 this hotel is conveniently located for a stopover on way back to the Channel Tunnel (1hr 40 minutes drive). Located on an industrial park it is quiet and there is only really one option for eating which is the Buffalo Grill 5 minutes walk away. You get what you pay for in terms of hotel... More

We used this hotel for a stopover whilst driving to Switzerland. Perfect for what we needed as we were arriving after 9 they gave us a code for the secure parking and front door also hotel door. Basic but clean, breakfast was ok too. Also had free wifi.

So we get to the Akena hotel in Saint-Quetin after reception has closed but not a problem as it has auto check in so they say. The code that booking.com gave us wouldn't open the electric gate but guest that came out to his car was kind enough to let us in and the gate closed behind us It turns... More

Good for one night sleep. The big plus for me was the friendliness of the staff. We were late and had forgotten to contact the hotel to inform them but the receptionist waited for us. He was really friendly. The breakfast is good. The hotel rooms need a refurbishment but for one night stay is not a big deal.

We recently had two stays at this hotel in two rooms. Staff very polite and helpful. There are often now broken fittings and blown bulbs in the rooms, but always have been very clean. A very quiet hotel, we always sleep well here. Tv is practically on the ceiling and is nearly unwatcheable, but good free wifi. Seems to have... More

As this is a budget hotel, I did not expect any frills. However, I was left very disappointed with my stay at Akena. Despite it being a non-smoking hotel, there was a smell of smoke in the corridor and in the room. There were cigarette burns on the bedclothes and in the bathroom, peeling paint in the bathroom ceiling, dusty... More

We were a little worried about arriving after reading some of the reviews but were pleasantly surprised. It was in a quiet location, room, sheets and bathroom very clean and the man on reception friendly and helpful. If you are looking for 5* you will be disapointed as this is purpose built for short stop over but it is very... More

Stayed in Akena as an overnight break on a long journey from Austria to Ireland. It does what it says on the tin. Clean and comfortable room at a decent price. Near to the Autoroute but in a stange area for a hotel, business zone and hospital. One word of warning. The directions to get there are written wrong on... More

Used the hotel as a stop over whilst heading south with my wife and 2 year old daughter. arrived at 9pm after a long drive and found the room had filthy bedding and was smelly. We rejected the room and requested a refund from the receptionist. we were told by the business owner that they do not offer refunds and... More

Just a stopover hotel but everything was functional. Dont expect pure luxury a these prices! The guy on reception was polite and helpful and breakfast was fine. Nearby is a Buffalo Grill, not everyones cup of tea but after a day of travelling it was nice just to wander to a restaurant across the road. Lots of parking available.
