This is a 2* hotel, friendly, clean and comfortable, within easy reach of the numerous bars and restaurants around the Place d'Armes and only a short distance from the ferry port. Ideal for those who just want to rest their weary heads after serious shopping at Cite Europe, only 15 minutes drive away. Good parking immediately outside.

We found this place to be better than expected. A spacious room with a great bathroom. Free WiFi in the lounge area, not in the rooms though. Good for a short stay. The receptionist was friendly and helpful to non French speaking travellers. Comfortable beds and nor expensive at all.

We stayed here for one night before going to the car ferry in the morning. Good points: Very friendly and helpful welcome. Great central location though slightly difficult to find Good breakfast at a good price though some decaff coffee or tea would have been nice. The room was very clean and freshly decorated. Good location near the fun busy bar street of downtown. Overlooks the large square which is also undergoing renovation -- no views of ocean, just view of construction site. Prices are pretty reasonable, room is adequate, staff are pleasant. Distance to ferry is couple miles. There is a bar 1/2 block down so can be pretty noisy on weekend night... More

We had a really nice refurbished room - but was worrying to see the amount of male immigrants coming backwards and forwards and hanging around outside in hoards. Saying that there was no trouble but made us very wary.

LIke many inexpensive hotels in Calais, reception is attended only part of the day, typically after 4 pm till early evening, and at checkout time.Hotel Belazur gives all this information on its website. The late checkin was an inconvenience for me having arrived about 1 pm on the ferry from Dover. The rooms are cramped and very basic. The ligts... More

I've stayed here twice before, and I was under no illusion that I would be getting a luxury stay. The two big selling points for this hotel are its location and its price. The rooms are in need of redecoration, and staffing was minimal - but it was perfectly adequate for our purposes.

: I would like to complain of the hotel. The room was really miserable! It was very cold and wet. There was smell of mold all around. The blankets were very old and ragged, there were holes from cigarettes on them. There was no toilet paper in the toilet. We had an really awful night there.
