The shower needed a bit of de-clogging, so maybe a bit more attention needed to plumbing. But otherwise this was fine by me, reasonably priced with friendly, informative receptionists. I skipped eating here because there are so many cafes and fast food joints nearby. Locations is good, ferry terminal a 20-minute walk, train station 10 minutes. A good, low budget... More

The rooms were okay. IT was what you would expect for the price. If we got it at the price booked. We arrived on the Friday we told them that we had booked and paid on line for the Friday and Saturday night. and the payment had been acknowledged by my friends credit card. They said no money would be... More

Unfortunately you can not give a negative figure on the above ratings, but if I could i wud'nt hesitate. Booked online using the picutres submitted by the hotel. The reality is nothing like the web pics. The front of the hotel has the paint flaking off and the balconies are crumbling. The rooms we were offered were beyond filthy there... More

When I first saw the hotel fromn outside I thought I had made a great mistake by booking it, but no, the rooms have been refurbished and are pretty much allright. Wi-fi is free and fast. I was given a single room with a big bed and an excellent, firm mattress. The bathroom even has a hairdryer. It is located... More

Booked primarily on price and was quite wary after reading the reviews but for the value and location you could not fault the place. It has obviously been upgraded so I would ensure you get one of these rooms but could not fault the place. The bathroom was spacious, bed was a bit hard but that is personal preference. I... More

The hotel Bel Azur (or Belazur as it is often incorrectly cited) ticked a lot of boxes for the budget traveller – its cheap (a bargain), a fantastic location in the centre of town, it’s clean, warm and has an en suite. What more could you ask for? However there were some aspects which unnerved me. I know Calais pretty... More

Regular visitor to this hotel which is still in the process of being renovated. Ideal position relative to the Tunnel and a choice of restaurants within easy walking distance, followed by short journey back to Auchan and the Tunnel the following day! Parking usually available opposite the hotel. Rooms small but perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. Breakfast adequate and... More

We were in need of an overnight stay in order to catch the euro tunnel the next morning. We had no reservation so we just picked this from hotels.com Let us just state the obvious from the beginning; this hotel is not suited for people. Maybe as a farm for cows or pigs. We have never really seen anything like... More

We stayed in the Belazur at the start and the end of our holiday in June this year. it is ideally placed for both the ferries and the tunnel, both only a short distance away. Also close to our favourite bar/bistro, Bar de la Tour, in Calais. The hotel is rated 2* but it's prices are 3* and not really... More
