There were several reasons why we made reservations at the Mercure Calais Centre – we were looking for a hotel in the middle of Calais with off street parking, close to restaurants and to the ferry port. We were meeting friends who would be arriving on the ferry from Dover. The Mercure ticked all our boxes, and our experiences with... More

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel; and by the staff's friendliness. Good breakfast for 10 Euros, and although the room rate is not the cheapest it is good value if you want a quiet room and peace of mind with a fully laden car in the secure walled car park. The breakfast is so good in fact... More

With issues (following a fire) with Le Shuttle, we decided to break our journey back from the Alps to the UK with a stopover in Calais. We booked the Mercure (using the Accor hotel site) from a fuel station somewhere around Dijon. We went for this hotel as it is downtown and would offer better opportunities for a decent meal... Fourth time here, nice comfortable rooms/beds etc, it has a private high walled secure car park for 15 euro per night but if you have a car full of stuff it gives peace of mind, relatively good value at around £65 to £85 per night, not eaten here but there is a cracking little pub just opposite that does a... Having been disappointed with the quality of the Ibis Hotels we stayed at recently, we decided to try Mercure for our stopover in Calais. Overall, the quality is better and just about justifies the higher price. Breakfast was included in our deal and was very good. There was no heating in the bathroom. Off street parking is available for 15... More

I have visited this hotel for many years including before it became a Mercure with the 'guardian poodle' in reception. Whilst it has changed, it still represents excellent value with fantastic and helpful staff. If you can't get what you want through the main website, ask the helpful hotel staff directly - you cannot ask for more. Car parking facilities... More

The hotel is conveniently located in central Calais and comes with an enclosed outdoor car park, which means you can keep your possessions safely in the car. We stayed there on Christmas Eve and it was handy not to have to take all the presents out for the night. That facility however comes at a hefty price of €15! The... More

We stayed here for the night on December 17th for our 2 day pre-Christmas visit to France to stock up on Christmas goodies (the huge Auchan) and good wine (Majestic Warehouse - order wine in UK, collect on arrival there). The hotel was virtually empty but was clean, comfortable and everything in the room worked. Breakfast was very pleasant. We... More

Well sited in centre of older part of town, with plenty of nearby restaurants and the Market. Twin room a bit small and a little tired. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good but a touch expensive.
