It's a bit dark and smells old. Not a place I would choose to stay but was selected from the Internet as was close to the ferry. Alright for an overnight stop is you're not too picky and reasonably priced. The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom abut dated but reasonable. Free wi-fi. Not much more you can say really.

We often stay in this hotel. It's convenient for the shops, restaurants and ferry port. The staff are very friendly, the foyer is lovely. the rooms are comfortable but not luxurious and a bit on the small side. We have never eaten breakfast there but we never do in any hotels, so I can't say whether they are good. I... More

We booked this hotel 15 minutes before arrival at midnight on a rainy Calais night due to strike at the ferry terminal. We arrived with tried children after a long day's driving and were given a warm welcome and rooms ready. The hotel is clean but very tired and basic - a decent place for a stopover en route but... I stayed at this hotel while doing a charity bike from from London To Berlin. The Hotel staff were very helpful and arranged a place for the bikes to be stored. Not much in the local area but if you walk in to the center there is plenty to do. Hotel rooms were dated but very clean and large. Will... More

A really posh looking hotel in an area that does not deserve it, this place is a gem. From the start the place is so welcoming with the owner's English being better than my son's. The bar area is like a Gentleman's club in Pall Mall. The rooms are large and fully equipped with telly and some english channels and... More

On our way back from Spain we took the decision to stay the night in Calais before an early departure back to the UK. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and tidy, Bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and tidy. No aircon so if it was a hot day i am not sure if this... More

Usually we stay down at the harbour in the Holiday Inn, but they were booked out on the day we wanted to travel, so after reading through our trusted Trip Advisor we decided on a couple of other hotels, but this was the only hotel that managed to have a room large enough for our family. We arrived in Calais... More

There's an almost 'old-fashioned' atmosphere in the reception area at the Metropol. Having just come a long way from a noisy, brightly-lit, bland, boring and very modern (we thought we were in Ikea for a moment) and overly expensive Ibis in Namur, Belgium* the Metropol was a hugely different experience. Quite simply put, it offered us everything we look for... More

The owners were very welcoming, and were not insulted by our oh-so British French as many other people were in Calais. The room was clean and tidy and everything you could need for a basic B&B. The bar was open for us whenever we wanted, although no one was ever in it! We were told we could take our drinks... More

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night after a mega long drive through France. It is literally 5 mins from the motorway and the morning after took no time at all to get to get to the euro tunnel terminal. First impressions of the hotel from the outside weren't good, it looked a bit tired and run down and... More
