This hotel is situated close to the port and on the main beach in Calais. It has a really nice restaurant next door and is good for a stop over. However when you arrive there doesn't seem to be anybody that works there. You have to go to said restaurant next door to check in. The rooms are basic and... More

We arrived around 4.30 am after driving from Amsterdam and had to collect the keys from the hotel next door. We needed to get to the tunnel the following afternoon. In all innocence we assumed that checkout would be at 12 noon (as is normal in most hotels) so alarms were set accordingly. We found out that check out was... More

Located next to the beach, with private free parking and ideal for a stop-over when using Eurotunnel or ferry. The rooms are clean and well equipped with fridge, microwave etc. Worth paying a little extra for room with sea views which are superb. Next door restaurant at sister hotel de la plage is good value for money too

We had an early morning Eurotunnel booking so were looking for simple facility, allowing late check in (we arrived after midnight) to give us a resting spot before morning trip. It ticked our requirements with free parking, ease of check in and check out and offered free wifi, a bath/shower and place to sleep. It was great for meeting our... More

Booked this hotel as a stopover for the euro tunnel. The hotel was easy to find but as we arrived during the evening, the staff was in the restaurant next door. We would have probably eaten in there had it not been for the over zealous waiter who tried 1980s tactics to try and get us to book a table... More

Plenty of space in the room for Robin, Tavli the dog, and me, to work (desk space & wifi, kitchen units but no utensils), rest and play. Best feature is the quiet road's breadth away from the longest, sandiest beach ever, where Tavli the dog heads immediately to race against seagulls. Breakfast average but adequate (fresh croissants and bread, moderate... More

I am here on my own this time, ready for an early ferry back to the UK tomorrow. Was booked into Hotel de la Plage, but bumped over into ground floor room 102 in the Residence du Golf next door. Clean comfortable room as usual, but that tiled hallway is very echoing, as reported before. The Hotel de la Plage... More

We'd always seen this place when staying at the Hotel de La Plage (formerly Kyriad) and known it as an apartment hotel. We'd booked the Hotel de La Plage but on arrival we were told we would be in this establishment as "Le Plod" had taken over the hotel for what ever top secret reasons. We found out later that... We booked this to split up a journey from Paris to dover with our two young children. On arrival the staff were pleasant, respected the French we were trying to speak lol!, and were really helpful. When we got to our room it was recently decorated and very modern. It was lovely. Had a small kitchenette and a brand new... More

On arrival, we were sent to a very pleasant double bed room, Friends travelling together sharing a room was the plan, but not the bed. After looking at 2 more pleasant double bed rooms, we were put in the Hotel Du Golf next door. The room was ok for the money, but not quite the same standard as the Hotel... More
