We really loved this art-deco inspired hotel. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff and the room was spacious, quiet and warm. A world away from the Parisian rip-off hotels I've had the misfortune to stay in, As other reviewers have said, it is a solid and unspoiled step back in time. Amazing value for money and we will go back.

We absolutely loved this place. Its quiet plush speaks of grander times, the decor lending a fin de siecle feel to the solid 1950s building. I could imagine Cary Grant greeting Audrey Hepburn on the sweeping marble staircase. Booking.com had lost our reservation, but the friendly receptionist, unprompted, honoured the quoted price anyway. The room was plenty large enough for... More

We stayed here as it was number 1 on trip advisor. We weren't disappointed overall although it would have been good to know the restaurant was closed. The room was big, would have been better for 3 than 4 but still OK. The hot tap didn't work in the bathroom. There was a whirlpool bath which the kids loved. Breakfast... More

Not sure we would have found this hotel without our trusty sat nav which took as straight to the main entrance. Helpful receptionist, fluent in English, directed me round the block to secure underground parking (extra charge). The hotel restaurant didn't really cater for our vegetarian friend so we took a short stroll to the numerous cafes around the main... More

We stayed for just one night waiting for our pre-booked ferry back to blighty. The receptionist was very accommodating, we had meals brought up to our room and Wi-Fi codes all sorted out. The hotel is relatively easy to find and exceptionally well furnished, it's like stepping back in time. Our room was comfortable with plenty of space and there... More

It was our second stay in this hotel. We returned to this hotel because we loved its staff and quirkiness. Yet, we must say that our second stay was even more enjoyable than last time. 1 - We were given a bigger room. 2- The breakfast was of much better quality, especially the sausages and omelette - very tasty. 3-... An overnight stay in order to explore Calais a little. Hotel was lovely, shabby chic, spacious, clean and comfortable. Good value, staff charming and helpful. Conveniently situated for many restaurants and cafes, we ate nearby in the square and used the cosy bar on return. Breakfast served in light and airy conservatory, plenty of choice and freshly squeezed orange jiuce,... More

If you want slick and standard stay at the Holiday Inn. If you don't mind the odd hic up and one off french style then choose the Meurice. We booked a double Superior room for a one night stop. Were initially shown to a room with 3 singles (?) This was corrected and the room we were eventually given was... More

Helpful and friendly staff. Spotless bed linen, well decorated rooms, shabby chic furnishings, rooms tidy and reasonably clean. Have had different levels of rooms here and have all been good value. Cold drinking water dispensers on each floor. Fresh squeezed orange juice with one of the best value self served breakfasts that we have had in France, not only croissants,... More

Lovely olde worlde hotel , conveniently situated for restaurants and bars. Also hotel has its own restaurant but we havent dined in it preferring to go out. Breakfast at the hotel is great with hot and cold to choose from and amazing orange juice freshly squeezed. We have stayed here many times over the years and the hotel has got... More
