Faded elegance really sums up this place. It is old fashioned but comfortable and a little quirky. We had a superior room which was large with a nice bright bathroom with a very modern jacuzzi bathtub (a little frightening!). The toilet was in a separate room which we're not so keen on. The bed was really comfortable with a lovely... More

We arrived late owing to issues with Eurotunnel. The hotel is easy to find and has a good location. Lots of restaurants are close by. We did walk to the seafront which is not far either. Standard rooms are compact but clean and comfortable and in local decor. The hotel was quiet and has some character. Breakfast was very good... More

I arrived around 8pm at night looking for a room and was fortunate they had one available. The lady behind the desk spoke great English and was amused by my terrible French. She was extremely helpful with information I needed about parking, food and drink and such service helps set a great first impression. The cost was very reasonable and... More

An Anglophile French Hotel in the grand, proper and sadly disappearing style of French Hotels. Real French plumbing, lovely high ceiling rooms, great public spaces. Reasonable prices, safe garage, it's own fine restaurant & lots of others in immediate walking distance. CHilled Water dispensers on spacious landings! Fun in a way more modern and functional hotels can never be. No... More

I have been taking a group of cyclists here for a weekend for the last 5 years. The hotel retains all the atmosphere of a French provincial hotel. We have always had a great weekend here; staff are always friendly and helpful; the secure underground garage for our bikes is a bonus. We are always given a good rate for... More

Pretty old school hotel but fine for a one night, relatively cheap stay. Not a bad breakfast included in the price and helpful staff from booking to check out. Secure parking for both cars and bikes. Good central location from the ferry port and train station also.

We last stayed here about 7 years ago and had an enjoyable stay, so we booked again just recently. Whilst we liked the old fashioned feel last time, we found this time that things had gone down hill. The hotel is very central, and we found an excellent restaurant just round the corner. Instead of a standard room we booked... More

We recently stayed in this hotel, very quirky with a lot of character, very clean and staff lovely. Close to everything lots of bars and restaurants near by.A real gem and we are already planning another trip in the winter, there is no need to pay very high prices for other hotels whilst this hotel has everything you could ask... A well situated hotel as only a short walking distance from plenty of restaurants and bars and plenty of free parking on the quiet streets.A lovely old fashioned reception with sweeping stairs, and furniture in keeping with the style. We had a double room and it was nicely furnished with an extremely comfortable bed.Separate bathroom and toilet which were very clean as...
