My family and I stayed here over the Easter Break, as we had a late ferry in from Dover (UK) and needed one night before moving on the next morning. You must visit this hotel at least once to take in the ambiance. Easy Parking on the roads outside, even in the early hours of Saturday morning. For a short... More

We stay at this hotel on a regular basis when in the area. Wonderful old world faded feel to the place. Good value as well. A taste of better times in Calais. On this our latest visit not so impressed with the very "Grumpy" lady on reception who also reluctantly also serves in the bar. (Which did not have any... More

The hotel was easily found with the help of my trusty sat nav (once it had discovered we had actually disembarked the ferry and weren't under the sea!) and the location just off the main street, was perfect for access to the town, beach, port and local restaurants. The welcome and service was very good and the traditional historic decor... More

We stayed in Calais overnight on our road trip to the South of France, I booked this hotel after reading some great reviews, and it completely lived up to expectations. It was clean, the bed very comfortable, breakfast was great, The room was decorated like chic French, very nice! I would definitely recommend.

This is probably the original hotel in Calais, in a grand building. Upon entering it has a huge hallway with reception and sweeping staircase. The feeling is of yesteryear, if you like the modern, soulless hotel chains, this is not for you. Room clean, and sheets all seemed new, receptionist was helpful. Room was a little small, but looked out... More

no welcome. Dusty dark room.broken chair. Torn carpet. Worn sheets, Dirty cup.kettle covered in limescale. Told reception, cup was washed, carpet and dust inspected by staff member, but no apology or alternative offered. We decided not to stay which was greeted with indifference - we had paid in advance for a superior room!

My friend and I stayed overnight for a last minute break. I had read the reviews for the Meurice and it did not disappoint in any way. It is very traditional, the furniture and decor and very clean and had character. Breakfast was lovely and included in the price and we were even able to have freshly squeezed oranges along... More

It was our third stay at this hotel and we don't regret not trying another establishment. It feels like a home away from home. We really like the laid back atmosphere and quirky decor. Very comfy beds, fresh and varied breakfast, delicious coffee, lots of free parking, fast Wi-FI, easy walk to the center. Again, we could not fault this... More

I am not sure anyone should use the term 'shabby chic' but this describes this hotel beautifully. I normally like cool and stylish but this place is stunning. It is like walking onto the set of a period drama. I was waiting for Mr Darcy to call up to the room to see if I fancied a game of tennis... More
