An overnight stay in order to explore Calais a little. Hotel was lovely, shabby chic, spacious, clean and comfortable. Good value, staff charming and helpful. Conveniently situated for many restaurants and cafes, we ate nearby in the square and used the cosy bar on return. Breakfast served in light and airy conservatory, plenty of choice and freshly squeezed orange jiuce,... More

If you want slick and standard stay at the Holiday Inn. If you don't mind the odd hic up and one off french style then choose the Meurice. We booked a double Superior room for a one night stop. Were initially shown to a room with 3 singles (?) This was corrected and the room we were eventually given was... More

Helpful and friendly staff. Spotless bed linen, well decorated rooms, shabby chic furnishings, rooms tidy and reasonably clean. Have had different levels of rooms here and have all been good value. Cold drinking water dispensers on each floor. Fresh squeezed orange juice with one of the best value self served breakfasts that we have had in France, not only croissants,... More

Lovely olde worlde hotel , conveniently situated for restaurants and bars. Also hotel has its own restaurant but we havent dined in it preferring to go out. Breakfast at the hotel is great with hot and cold to choose from and amazing orange juice freshly squeezed. We have stayed here many times over the years and the hotel has got... More

We have been back to this hotel many times now and they never fail to impress. Staff very pleasant, rooms and beds very comfortable. We used to go to Calais on works day trips but found having an overnight opened up a whole new nocturnal side of Calais for our delectation. Thoroughly recommend as so convenient for the town and... Location: Very good. Two short blocks from the main street. From main street you can walk everywhere in 10 minutes. The town is small. Because it's on a side street, it's quiet. 7 euro/ 5 minute taxi from train station. 10 euro or less to ferry. Building: Old but there's a lift / elevator. Room: Strange layout... Old but functional... More

Nice hotel with lots of antiques about the place. We had room 43 which had a separate toilet with no wash hand basin which we thought was very unhygenic - not sure if all the rooms are the same, but with a little bit of thought this could have been incorporated into the shower room. Plenty of restaurants nearby to... More

Stayed the weekend of 22nd November 2014 and will deffinately stay again. Although the hotel is a little tired and worn in some parts,it really is a very nice place to stay. The staff are welcoming & friendly,a small Snug bar, decent sized bedrooms with tea/coffee making facilities, small tv with couple of English channels. Hair dryer in bathroom, toilet separate room, our... More

Throroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the hotel Meurice, on our shopping trip to Calais this weekend. The rooms are very clean, the beds are comfortable, plenty of hot water. Breakfast is good: freshly squeezed orange juice, good choice of cold and hot breakfasts. Service was very good, with a special mention for Joffrey, a friendly, attentive and very professional... We found the Meurice through TripAdvisor, and were happy with the hotel. The rooms are clean - ours had a brand new mattress; the hotel's decor is quirky, the breakfast excellent value. However, the hotel's best asset seems to be Sophie, the reservations department/receptionist/concierge/bar-maid/cellar-man. We arrived later than we had anticipated thanks to a long drive. Sophie was swift to... More
