A simple family run hotel which does everything you would expect.rooms clean but spartan, bathrooms tiny but function The restaurant tries and sometimes is very good but often feel food a bit prue cooked, but for the price,it is great value Not for romantics but for sheer pleasure of a comfy bed, clean up and hearty fare, you can't go wrong

A reasonable hotel within easy reach of the tunnel and ferries and this is obviously what it is used for. Always full but I think most people only stay one night. Service is erratic we asked for a early morning call and a packed breakfast as we were getting the shuttle at an early time. Neither materialised so it was... More

The Cottage Hotel is a simple, basic but clean budget hotel. We paid 64 euros, spent one night over Easter and have no complaints. Easy to find and close to Citi Europe, Le Shuttle and Calais town centre. The rooms are quite small but the bed was comfy. Tea & coffee making facilities, sweets & biscuits! We didn't use the... A glitch in my on-line booking through a booking agency was soon cleared up by the Manager, after the system booked 2 rooms instead of 1. She kindly did not charge the 2nd room, which we appreciated. This is good customer service! For the price we paid, we found everything was fine. We dined in the Restaurant and found the... More

You don't, as others have said, expect a lot from a hotel at this price but we have stayed here before and found it a good place for an overnight stop. I hope our experience this time was a one off but we may not risk trying to find out again. We were made welcome enough on arrival but when... More

I paid €40 for the night, for that you don't expect swimming pools etc! Great stop over to break journey! Food is average, centre ville is a good 30 min walk, but buses are frequent, good restaraunts can be found on the sea front

This isn't the most expensive or classy hotel, but for a quick trip to Calais, it's just the job. We've stayed here before and have never had any complaints. Friendly staff who can speak perfect English but are more than happy to let us practise our abysmal French on them! The rooms are clean and although a little on the... More

Still find this to be the best of the budget hotels in Calais for bed comfort and cleanliness Only disappointment was restaurant and bar was closed New Year's Eve Staff always willing to go that little bit extra, so a root in the boot of the car for a bottle of wine they supplied corkscrew and glasses. Hotel prices in... More

We stayed at the Cottage Hotel on the 2nd January with our dog . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and bedding very clean and large enough for our needs. It also had English TV in your room. There was also restaurant and bar in the hotel.Breakfast was extra but well worth having as it saved you having to... More

We stay at the Cottage Hotel two or three times a year en route from the Pays Basque to Oxford. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable: ideal for a night's stopover but insufficient for a longer stay. The decor and general appearance is now looking a little tired. Time for renovation!
