staff very helpful & polite. Cost of stay reasonable, breakfast was not included in this cost. We did not have breakfast therefore unable to let you know whether it was value for money. Hotel was at least 30mins. from a supermarket/civilisation - we didn't mind, we like walking. The room was clean & had everything (hair dryer!) for your stay... more

We've stayed at the Cottage Hotel several times now and have had uniformly good experiences. The staff are always very professional and most of them are kind and friendly too. We've not been troubled by noise (and we're quite sensitive to it). The room is always clean, with everything you need, including - very unusually for this part of the... more

We stayed here one night as easy for the ferry port and channel tunnel. Only E57 for a double so is excellent value. It is a budget hotel so not many ammenities but great value for a stopover. The staff are very friendly and we ate dinner in the restaurant which was also good value. There is another restaurant -... more

My wife and I wanted to slip away to France for 36 hours. We were on a tight budget and Cottage Hotel were offering an excellent deal. We tried the €9 Menu Rapide and found the food well cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. This is an ideal hotel to choose on either your first or last... more

My wife and I stayed here during a shopping trip to Calais. They had a deal on-buy 2 nights, get one free. We thought they tried hard at the Hotel to make you welcome. A warning!!. If you do not smoke, ask for a No Smoking room...they aren't all! The first room we tried was pretty grim smelling of smoke...but... more

Booked the cottage hotel through superbreak and got a 3 for the price of 2 deal.It was easy to find coming off the ferry with free car parking. It is quite a small hotel and quite basic but our rooms were spotlessly clean. The furniture is quite old fashioned and the rooms are quite small, but they had everything you needed,tv,tea&coffee, ensuite bathroom etc.The... more

We booked this hotel instead of a bb hotel or Camponile hotel with the thought that it woudl be good to find a better quality motorway stop over that than the Calais bb-hotel or Camponile - the Cottage is about 20euros more per night.. cost us 63 Euros Our first impression was that the hotel is badly in need of... more

Excellent value for money, clean, good food, comfortable beds and very convenient for the channel tunnel. Experience partly spoiled by fellow guests arguing in the corridors and banging doors until the wee hours. Not the hotels fault, but I suspect it attracts people on boozy weekends (we stayed a Friday night) so perhaps not unpredictable. more

Easy to find with signposts, decent rooms and free parking. Staff very friendly and made us rolls to eat with our drinks as my son didnt fancy the menu as was his first time in France and is fussy, but it was very popular and busy . Would stay again if I was back in the area. Highly recommended. more

so convenient for the channel tunnel, we have stayed at the cottage hotel many times. it continues to provide acceptable accommodation for an overnight stop at a reasonable price and the restaurant is also very good value- for -money ( make sure you book a table on arrival as it does tend to fill up quickly) not in an attractive... more
