We stayed here for Easter and had a great time. Followed a previous posters advice and asked for a refurbished room overlooking the courtyard. The room was large witha small bathroom and plenty of storage. No tea making facilities though. Breakfast was included in our price and was good. There was a public carpark outside the hotel which we laways... more

After spending hours trolling through the various hotel reviews for Amiens, we were expecting very little from any property in the town but opted for the Mercure as it seemed to be the best of a bad lot. Having spent a lovely week cruising along the Canal de la Somme on a penichette, we arrived on a freezing cold and... more

We were happy with our stay in this hotel. Yes the location is very central to Amien's great attractions, but it does get a little noisey on the weekend with the Police station and main raod close - although this wouldn't be enough to turn me off. The hotel is very very old building and has a great rustic feel... more

As the other reviews state, it's nicely situated in the centre of Amiens, a charming place with its cathedral and pleasant riverside restaurants. Unfortunately, its central location is also a bit of a disadvantage. It is incredibly noisy, and is right opposite a busy police station. Deliveries to local businesses also seem to start at 5am. On arrival, it looks... more

We booked into this hotel for one night and thank god it was only the one night. The only plus point is that it is well situated to visit Amiens as it is very central to the town. However the very narrow stair case to get to our room should be a health and safety factor. If there was a... more

There aren't t a lot of choices for hotels if you're planning to visit the Somme battlefields and want to stay centrally located in a more populous area. Here are the pros and cons of the Mercure in my opinion: Pros: -friendly staff - located within 10 min. walk of Cathedral and other aesthetic sites -An easy drive to Albert,... more

After traipsing round Amiens for a few hours checking out the hotels in the area (I looked at the rooms in each hotel too), I finally came back to this one (it had been the first one I'd seen when stopping over in Amiens for one night, but I'd found it too dull and depressing). The hotels in Amiens are... more

Amiens is probably the best town to stay if you are visiting the Somme battlefields, and this is probably the best hotel - but you need to be aware of a number of things. The hotel has no carpark, and parking around the hotel is a nightmare, and demands that you constantly feed parking meters. The rooms are small and... more

We only stayed here 1 night in April 2007 to go and see the Australian WW1 memorial. If you plan to do a tour of the battle fields book first. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the train station and a little hard to find. The Express Holiday Inn is right next to the station and the... more

We stayed at this cute hotel while doing a bus tour of WW1 battlefields. The hotel appears newly renovated in a very nice warm style. Our room was welcoming and very clean and the bathroom was a good size with excellent shower. The hotel overlooks a local car park which isn’t the prettiest of views but not too far away... more
